Setting predecessors in a Template project
I build a project template and I would now like to like the various tasks within and across project folders. As soon as I try to set a task as the predecessor or another one, the parent task is automatically started which is not what I need for a Template. I just need the predecessor to be set so that once the Template is duplicated to support a "real" project those relationships are all already in place.
Hello Lionel DEPERROIS, welcome to the Community! Thank you for sharing your question with us. Even though it is not possible to create a dependency without establishing start and due dates, you can avoid applying the dates of your template (or blueprint) to the created item. All you'd need to do is use the "reschedule" option when creating from a blueprint:
This way, the dependencies will remain as you specified them in your template, but their dates will be rearranged accordingly.
