[Status: Not planned] Recurrent Parent + Subtasks

Could you please let us know how many upvotes are required on this request to get it on the roadmap? Is there a logic behind why it isn't? I asked my account rep on our regular check-in call and she said there is no control over how it's decided?

Thanks in advance for your response. I'm hoping that since the first request for this was made in 2017, it's on the map for 2021. That's a long time.

Hi everyone!
Just for clarity, our team has access to each suggestion posted in the Product Feedback forum here. The guide to voting and statuses is based on a minimum of 60 votes. It means that there is a threshold which, once reached, automatically requires the Product Team to provide an update. We have so many great ideas here on the Community, it's impossible to investigate, comment and implement them all, but we can at least commit to updating everyone on ideas that have 60 or more votes.
This does not mean that feedback requires 60 votes before our Product Team considers it - though it helps to show how popular the idea is. If the team sees an idea, sees the value, and has room on their roadmap, they may begin to investigate and develop it regardless of votes. It also can't guarantee that each idea that has more than 60 votes is going to be investigated and launched, unfortunately.
Currently, enhancements to recurring tasks is not something on the short-term roadmap. Once the team reviews recurring tasks again, this, and other related Community threads, will be reviewed and I'll be back here to give you an update then 👍

How is this on the back-burner still when just about 6 weeks ago you all reached out to us who had posted in this forum for one-on-one interviews regarding this issue. I spoke directly with one of the senior engineers working on this very issue who assured me it would be addressed early in 2021? Was he lying straight to my face?

Ditto Mr Tuggle's comments.  I also had a discussion with one of the engineers and was informed this was going to be fixed.

Please provide update? Were we misled?

I had the same experience as Scott Harris and Mark Tuggle. November 2020, was told they were working on it 'this quarter.' I hope it turns out to be true because I'm so excited for those gaps to finally be filled in!!

I, too, would like this feature to be added. We have MANY recurring projects, and having this feature would be invaluable to my teah.

100% I need subtasks to also replicate with the parent task! Otherwise I need to make separate tasks that recur, and they aren't tied together.

Thank you for supporting here Danielle Fairbairn! Unfortunately, as Elaine mentioned above, this suggestion isn't currently planned for implementation. We'll keep you posted if/when this changes in the future.

Very cluttered spaces without the ability of subtasks to recurr with a parent task--please add!

Adding my support for this feature as well. I work with a Marketing team and we recently tested the Recurring task feature with our bi-weekly podcast and quickly discovered the feature is useless if it doesn't include the subtasks as well. 😥

My upvote for this as well. Was very surprised that subtasks wasn't carried over to recurrences.

Maybe it could be useful for the Wrike support team to compile a list of workarounds for this issue.

Gandalf Saxe unfortunately the only 2 work-arounds that Wrike has is 1) if you want to keep subtasks - to create a Template and add it manually each month (totally defeats the purpose of "recurring task"). 2) create a recurring task and copy the subtasks into the comments of the recurring task and manually create the subtasks each time it pops up.

This issue has been outstanding for more than 4 years. There are multiple threads on this issue. Based on the feedback that was received earlier this year there are "technical obstacles" preventing this functionality.  That is IT speak for it cannot be done the way the current platform was developed and would require significant reengineering to make it work.  Reengineering that Wrike has not willing to do thus far.

My other concern is that some recent critical product components, like the calendar, have been added only to the more expensive license tiers and it leaves smaller teams like mine out of needed features. I can understand charging more for premium features that would benefit larger teams, but not things like this. I feel like every time I get on an annual call with a rep they recommend upgrading to me and we're already paying.
