[Status: Released ๐Ÿš€] Out of office -easy update profile status

It would be very useful to have way for a user to update their status easily on desktop app or mobile to show if they are not available, in meeting or out on holiday, gone fishing or other.

A live collaboration / communication tool really needs this, even in old fashioned email has out of office ;)

What do others think?

Yes yes yes yes!! I periodically google this to see if there is a resolution yet :( Currently we have to just change our profile name to include the OOO info.. very low tech! We have people globally raising issues via Wrike so as many others have said, this is a really essential requirement for us.

I have one suggestion which may have already been requested, but when I'm on leave I would like to set it to automatically assign to someone I designate (namely someone else in my immediate team) if that makes any sense?

Thanks

We need this feature too! We try to limit who is involved in each task to those who need to "take action." But, things can get missed when someone is away ... and our timelines are generally tight. We're a large enough team to be able to reassign tasks as needed and too large to keep track of who is OOO at any one time. I'd like to see some sort of pop up when I start to type someones name so I can redirect as needed. We'll also need a quick/easy way to team members to update their status when they're away. If they're sick, they may only have access to the app ... which has limited functionality.

Totally agree that OOO feature is essential especially for large teams.  Right now, my sub has no idea what has been communicated to me in Wrike for actiion, nor does the stakeholder know to contact someone else.  I'll be upvoting this.  Thanks!

When our team is out of the office, they change their last name in their profile to be [LAST NAME] - OOO

This has been working great until Wrike comes up with a new solution. Any time someone @mentions you, the "OOO" alerts you to know that the person is not going to respond right away. We have also had people add the date they will return in the office - IE OOO-12/17 - so the team can expect when to have feedback.

ok so we have been using the "non-working" time but:

-non-working time reasons are limited (I'd like: sick time, CPE, travel, business meeting etc.)

- also, report on tasks that automatically get rescheduled once we enter "non working time", you give a warning but how can administrators have a controlled environment when we can't isolate things that the system automatically rescheduled due to non-working time?

-task option of "work on weekends" should really be called something else. there are things like legal and tax deadlines that do not change because the deadline is derived from a govt. bureau, so whether the assignee is off or not the date shouldnt automatically be moved- but that doesnt mean that I want them to work on weekends. but for now we are selecting that option to indicate we dont want the date to change due to "non-working time"

I do like the fact that when you go to @ mention someone who has entered their time off into their work schedule that it shows that they are "unavailable" next to their name in red.

Also, with time off request forms, why can't this directly feed into the person's schedule. Why is it 2 separate items? you already have the pieces of the information so I am not sure why they don't communicate.

I would like to see an option to re-assign tasks to a particular person while i am out of the office.

For example i am about to take a couple of weeks off, when i add this to my calendar in wrike it pushes all my tasks out until i get back! In order to re-organise i have to go into each task individually, add in another assignee, and then drag the task back to the original dates.

It would be nice if there was an option to automatically assign all / particular tasks to another person while i am away.

Totally agree with William! This would be fantastic! Our company has built a lot of request forms that have assignees built in based on question selections. If the system could auto assign based on staff being out of the office that would be a huge win for our 300+ user account. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Agreeing with everyone here as well, an OOO status/message on Wrike would be extremely helpful in communicating Dev with Sales

Hi everyone, I am happy to say that I have an update for you ๐Ÿ™‚

Now, when you try to @mention someone unavailable at the moment (vacation/day off/different work schedule) you will see the "UNAVAILABLE" written next to their name:

If you @mention that person anyway, you will see a pop-up message with the information about unavailability:

I've added the 'Released' status to this post, please get back here with any feedback you have about the feature.

Thanks for posting ๐Ÿค—

@raynald To set your status as unavailable, go to your profile: click on your name at the upper right corner of a Wrike screen.
Once there, go to Work Schedule (in the left-hand panel). Double click on a date that you're unavailable, and select one of the options.

I'm closing this thread because, well, we delivered on the idea. Thanks to everyone who voted, commented with use cases and showed interest in getting this developed.

If you'd like to see a related tweak to this functionality, you'll need to create a separate request in the Product Feedback forum.

Happy posting ๐Ÿ‘

Yes!  This has come up on our end too. An OOO would be hugely helpful.
