[Status: Investigating ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ] Assign allocation effort individually to tasks with multiple people assigned

My additions:
We also could really use this ability to assign allocation uniquely to each person on the task individually. ย I realize a work around is to use sub-tasks/individual tasks assigned on a 1:1 ratio. ย But our group does not have dedicated project managers so assigning granular tasks like this is not feasible. ย We need to track single tasks at a bit higher level with 2 or 3 people assigned to the task, andย each person having their own effort allocation depending on their role. ย When everythingย needs to be addedย as a separate task just because the person has a separate role/allocation, it becomes unmanageable. ย So we are currently sacrificing a bit and not getting good estimates for some resources that are assigned to a multi-person task with very different allocations. ย I would like to see Wrike have the flexibility to assign allocation to each individual uniquely for cases where you don't need exact/granular task tracking for all the start/end and other task details; you just want to see the workload view snapshot for all your resources, with minimal project management investment. Wrike's flexible workload and timeline views are a huge selling point and they would be so much more useful if more people could be assigned to a single task and allocations simply tracked at the person level.ย
Hi Jenina, thanks for writing this up in a separate post! I'll add a link to the other one to direct more people to vote for this. :)
We have the exact same issue.ย We have a huge program with over 3000 tasks and adding 2-5 sub-tasks to each of those would make our plan even more unwieldy than it already is.ย We have shared resources across all of these tasks so we have the same need to have Wrike calculate different work loads for different resources based on % allocation of each resource time available to the project/program.
i have the same problem.
for the kind of projects i work with - Long term waterfall, multiple teams on multiple projects - it turns critical.
when planning a 12~14 months project timeline, with multiple dependencies, it is crucial to understand who will be available at each stage.
using the sub-task option is the only one existing right now, but it obligates me to actually create a private GANTT Chart for each of the team members.
assuming the project involves 20~30 engineers it becomes absolutely unmanageable.ย
exemple below:
Hello-
I have the same issue with wanting to show different levels of effort across the same task. Is there any other workaround aside from adding subtasks for each person? Thanks
-Matt
Hello team, with the introduction of Effort and flexible type, I'm still struggling on getting this achieved.
Did anyone find a silver bullet???
Hi everyone, please check out the Task Effort page on the Help Center - flexible type of effort might be what you are looking for.
When Flexible effort type is selected:
You can specify the number of hours independently for each assignee and working day.
You see how many hours you have already allocated and the total effort, so you always know how many hours are yet to be allotted.
Please let me know if that helped ๐

Hi Lisa,
Flexible is too cumbersome when you work on long term task (say 150 days) across multiple people (say 5) who has the patience and time to individually fill in 750 cells... (unless I miss something here)
yes, If we could simply split the hours right when we add the effort it would easily fix this problem.ย In this example Britt is doing 28 hrs of work and Dwynn is doing one hour of work or just needs to have oversight. ย With projects that have hundreds of hours for each task splitting them out to different people is very cumbersome in the flexible view on Workload. ย ย
Hello, we have the same issue - many waterfall project with 120 days duration, complex Gantt charts with multiple teams and assignees. And now the only option there is to go manually into Workload view and create a project chart for each new project add fix effort daily fit everyone separately. Very tedious! I could live with having a blueprint where i do this work once for the roles and then just switch it to real folks, but flexible effort is not available in blueprints... was thinking about using some integration, but flexible effort fields can not be used In those as it seems... so I donโt have any workaround really. Any tips and tricks would be great.
I completely agree with the above.ย The user should be able to enter the allocation of effort from the task and not from the workload area.ย Wrike, have you made any progress with this?

This task has been open for 3 years and seems like an easy request.ย Please status.

Just checking in on the status please!
Hello Jennifer Breitbach, thanks for asking! I've checked with the Product team and the research is continuing about this suggestion. I'll be sure to update you here when I have more news to share ๐
Hi!ย Is there any update on this?
Hi Samantha Davis and everyone! Thanks a lot for bumping this thread!ย
Our team has recently released the possibility to split the total effort differently for each day of the task's duration and for each assignee for Flexible effort type. Here's the Help Center article with more info.ย
It seems like this release covers the ask of this suggestion. Please let us know your thoughts! After we hear from you, we'll proceed to change the status here to "Launched" ๐

With Flexible it would be helpful to be able to have the same drop down like as Daily (both hours and %) so I can assign Project A to two people and have one assigned 100% of their time and the other 50%. ย As it is now Flexible will default to hours only and with Daily the same % is applied to all the people assigned, not individually.
