I would like to easily report, display and group tasks by the projects to which they are associated.
We heavily utilize project templates, with subfolders for the various phases of the project. As result, there are hundreds of tasks across projects with the same exact name, existing in a folder with the same name. Displaying the parent folder becomes useless.
This would greatly increase the functionality of reports and dashboards.
Three suggestions given that are not adequate:
1. Add a task prefix upon duplication -- task names are too long, and when looking at a single project there is a lot of redundant noise.
2. Tag tasks to the Project itself as well as the subfolders -- requires additional manual tagging and prevents me from seeing all currently active tasks on the project.
3. Create a Custom Field to represent the name of the project -- requires manual (and potentially missed) work whenever any additional tasks are created.
