Time Tracking Notifications

We'd like the ability for a user to get a notification if the time tracked on a certain task has hit or gone beyond a certain amount of time. Because we bill hourly, we don't want our clients to be nonplussed when we invoice them for more hours worked that they think they agreed to.

Hi there, Lauren! I think this is a good idea, especially with automation becoming a popular topic. I appreciate the insight and would love to hear what other users think about this too.

I second Lauren's request.

Would also like to receive notifications when benchmarks are hit on allotted hours for projects/tasks. For example if we want  to spend 50 hours total as a team on Client X then would like Account Leader to be notified when 25 hours are hit, 40 hours, 50 hours, etc.

Thanks!

Zach

I agree with Lauren and Zach.

Would also be good to have a pop-up reminder when you open a task to remind the user to start the timer.

Thanks

Jonnie

100% agree with everyone here!

We would love to have this feature also! :)

This would be amazing for us. Having the following built out on the timer:

  1. Notifications when duration is reached or exceeded
  2. Reminders if the timer is left running
  3. Reminders if your timer isn't started

This is needed so badly! Especially when you leave a timer running - our previous time tracking software had this and users are a bit upset that Wrike doesn't do that.

Great Idea, especcially if the duration time of the task is taken into account.

Disappointing this feature has not been added.

Requested nearly half a year ago.

That is an even less impressive response lol

IF YOU GET ENOUGH LIKES YOU GET A FEATURE....

Wow, updates are seriously a popularity contest?

I have to say that Wrike does not behave like a platform for adults that are working.

Maybe you add a Gleem giveaway ? The winner actually gets an improvement?

Hi Stephen Kowalski,

When a post reaches 60 upvotes, the Product team provides the thread with a status update. This allows the Community to quickly see which stage an idea is in, and whether or not it is on the roadmap.

While votes give the team an idea of the Community's interest in a suggestion, they are not the exclusive factor in how future updates are planned in Wrike. Suggestions may conflict with each other, it may not be the right time, or adding functionalities in one feature may weigh down another. All feedback is collected in Wrike and referenced by the Product team as they plan out the product roadmap.

Your interest in this has been shared with the team. If there are any updates in relation to this idea, I'll be sure to let you know.

Hello Team Wrike

I also find that the '60 votes' to get an improvement is not reflective of the actual level of importance or need of said feature.

My team for one is seriously disappointed at the lack of a time tracking feature (THAT WORKS WELL ENOUGH TO EVEN BOTHER TO USE) and the frustrating hours spent trying to set up Zaps or integrations between Toggl or the like.

This is the reason we are seriously considering leaving Wrike, as soon as we can.

How about that counts for, say, 10 votes? :)

I think you can see that people are clearly more distressed about this subject that others, and also, that it is truly an oversight by Wrike - it's about the quick rectification and inclusion of a missing essential feature, not merely an 'improvement' that needs to be made.

Best wishes

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca Torti, thank you so much for sharing detailed feedback on time tracking in Wrike here. We do take all feedback seriously and pass it on to the team regardless of the votes. The number of votes simply helps the team understand how popular a suggestion is on the Community. Sometimes, a feature with less than 60 votes can be implemented. Sometimes, a more popular suggestion can't be implemented due to conflicting priorities, etc. Please check out this article on what happens with Product feedback to get more detail on our processes.

In relation to this suggestion here, I don't have an update currently; I or my colleagues will let you know once we do.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're disappointed; if there's anything I can do for you, please let me know.

We actually have over 60 licenses with Wrike.

I find it embarrassing that as a director I would have to ask our employees to go online and "like" my post in order to have a critical feature implemented.

CC my entire company:
Hey guys, can you go like my post?

Follow-up email:
Hey guys, I noticed I only had 30 likes on my post, can all of you just go and like my post, please?

Seems very professional.

I totally understand your sentiment Stephen Kowalski! The number of votes really does help the team understand how popular different suggestions on the Community are, but it would be great if you could at least upvote just for yourself. Also, it's possible to let your account's Customer Success Manager know your feedback - we have multiple feedback channels that are all reviewed by the Product team.

Considering its been 4 years (2017) and this is still not implemented, plenty of posts here with 1-3 likes, and the Wrike rep's post about 60 like requirement for a response; it doesn't appear 1 (or 3) likes makes much of a difference.

Wrike is so unresponsive it would be comical. SInce my company pays for it and I have to read your responses, it's a lot less funny to me than it could be.

It appears liking my own post would do as much good as this comment, which is to say none at all.

Wrike was a company mistake.

In our company, we connected with the API and created this function with customized alerts.

If our team reaches 85% of the task, our tool sends a notification to specific people in the task.

Once it reaches 100% or exceeds it, sends another notification to the managers.
