Default view on Folders
Currently, the folders and view settings made during a session carry over to all folders. I believe that the view setting is much more useful to be specific to a folder. I'm spending a lot of time changing these filters when I click between folders.
For example when looking at task lists, I only want to see active tasks, and all dependants.
Then when I click on a folder with the project plan with multiple task levels, I want to see all tasks so I can drill down into the sub-tasks.
When I click on a folder for resource management, I usually want to filter to only the people I have in my team.
This request is to allow folders to have saved 'Views'. Then one of those views can be saved as the default. Or you could select another saved view.
Hi Andrew, nice to hear from you again! Thanks for the details and for sharing here.
Hi Andrew! I know you were referring to saving filters for Folders here, but in case this helps, I wanted to mention that in Wrike Labs you can test out the Default View Picker, which allows you to set views such as Timeline, Table, List, as the default on a per Folder basis. Happy to hear your thoughts about this!
I agree that this would be a useful feature. In my case, I don't mind that List view is the default when selecting a project, but I would like the be able to set "STATUS: Any" as the default (I currently have to always change from STATUS: Active). I'd also like all subtasks expanded by default.
Hi
It is a nice feature, but at this moment after setting a default view, you can switch between default views, but you are not able to cancel default selection (switch back to a state where there is no default view
On different issue, it would be great if time log filter would have options (like added lately to time log report) such as: Today, Yesterday, this week, ........
Hi Tamir! You're right, I just checked in with our Product Team, and there's no way to completely reset a chosen Default View. That said, they're going to look into ways to change that, so thank you for sharing your feedback here!
It would be good if the "default view" were set up to allow for selecting the default at the group folder level vs having to set it up for each project within a folder structure.
Thanks for your input Mark. Just to be sure I completely understand, do you mean you want to be able to select, at a Folder level, which default view is set for all that Folder's Subfolders/Subprojects? Thanks
Yes Stephen, that would be beneficial in my role as I have access to multiple groups folders. It would be great to be able to set a default view from the higher level vs each folder at a time.
Setting the default view in larger groups would be helpful. But the larger, more time consuming issue - as @Howard Kim noted - is that the filters and sorting don't stick. I want to see All Status every time I go to timeline view - always! otherwise dependencies are unclear. I don't want to have to resort my rows and rearrange the order of columns every time I go into Table view. Wrike, please make the views sticky by user!!
Thank you, Mark & Clair, for adding your detailed input here. This feedback really helps our Product team when they're developing and discussing this feature!
We definitely need this! I want default views for Timeline and List Views to be for every task within a project, not just active tasks.
Please make the default view "Status: Any" instead of "Status: All Active".
The "Status: All Active" default view is extremely inconvenient for me and every member of my Creative Team who need to be able to jump between task and project views and see all dependencies. Please either make the global default change Krista suggested, or, better yet, make it a customized configuration setting so that any team or individual user can choose the default view that makes project management most efficient for them.
Fully agree with Andrew. I think it is good the idea of the "active" tasks filter but it should be possible to change it and fix it for a certain folder. Something similar to what it is possible to do with the Default Workflow
Hey everyone! I'm happy to share that saving filters is now available in one of our beta features - new Timeline. Feel free to enable it in Wrike Labs and give it a go. :) Is this something you'd like to see for other views? Please share in comments!
Yes, please! Thank you :)
Hi, I searched the Wrike Lab, couldn't find a Timeline feature. Am I missing it?
Only see the following:
thnx
@Vicious_ I see the timeline as the very first option in the Lab. We also received an email "This Month at Wrike" that has a link to it from Evan from Wrike today.
@Stephen Orowe - Dashboards aren't practical for us based the multitude of projects we have.
@Serge - Glad to hear that timeline view will have the ability to save filters - that is certainly the most critical view for it. Yes, please do add the option to save filters to other views.
We would like to see this functionality for the other views as well, please. It comes up ALL the time for us, and seems at first blush like a simple fix. Thanks
I agree with Justin. It would be great to be able to have this feature in all other views. Not having this is frequently a source of frustration for members of our team.
@Clair Scribner Thanks for the screenshot. I definitely don't have that option. Opened a ticket.
@Vicious_ thanks for opening a ticket about this! I wanted to mention that in case anyone else runs into this, in some cases hard refreshing the page could help (Ctrl+F5 on Windows, and Cmd+SHift+R on a Mac). Let me know if that doesn't help!
Agree with the other colleagues. Please extend it to other views! :)
Agreed. This would be helpful and seems like a reasonable expectation.
Can you please remove the default view for folder... I want to invoice my clients for the last month and send them a time log... i have to change the view and the filter for the time frame every single time. !!!!!
Thanks everyone!
@Jean-Philippe, in your case, you can achieve this with the help of Timelog Reports. Just select "Last month" option in the filters section of the Report Builder and you'll see the relevant tasks each time you open your Report.
There will be no need to filter out the time frame each time you want to see timelog entries for the last month. Please give it a try and let me know if that works for you! :)
One very important from side.
Is it possible to add this Time Frame feature to this report and custom fields feature?
We also use time logs to generate invoices and we need exact dates and custom fields data in this case. For the being we have to generate reports using 2 different reports from Wrike (time logs of each task export and other report which has custom fields data). It is very time consuming and with risk of mistakes creating this kind of combined one report.
I think that it should not be a big effort to add these 2 features ( time frame and custom fields) into Timelog report because they already exist in Wrike.
Please let me know if you will be able to implement this in near future.
Best regards
Kris
Hi Serge, I had already checked this and just gave it a try
