[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Task Reminder via Wrike E-Mail Notification
It would be awesome to be able to right-click on a task (or sub-task) - or use a menu option - to tell Wrike to send a reminder at a certain date/time to selected team members.
Let's say I have a task that is assigned to me, but I am waiting on a response from a vendor. I want a reminder (via Wrike e-mail notification with a link to the task) to trigger me to follow up with that vendor to see where things stand. I don't want to have to add any additional tasks in the project as a reminder task or manually add a reminder to my calendar in Outlook - that's just clunky.
I have used the iCal sync, but when I try to set a reminder on the item in the calendar in Outlook, I get an error that the folder does not support reminders and that the calendar is read-only, so I can't set a reminder anyway.
Other tools, under consideration by my team, have this feature and it's been useful in our testing while we are in the PM tool selection process.
+1 Yes, please add the option to set up reminders in Wrike. This's impacting adoption. Thank you.

Just reiterating my support for some type of task reminder. We currently use recurring tasks as part of a large-scale content maintenance process; however, the creation of new tasks that don't carry over anything (custom fields, files etc.) and don't breadcrumb back to the source task creates a good deal of "noise" for our content owners. A simple reminder on the original task would allow us to maintain the attached files/assets with ease...Thanks!!!
I second the task reminder functionality.
If a solution has been created, I apologize for not finding it in the thread as I stopped 2/3s down the first page.
I use Google Calendar integration but prefer not to...
I tried the Outlook add-in but our corporate IT has not permitted it for security reasons. (don't ask).
I've got faith in you Wrike!
I have been using Wrike since almost 6 months now. I was missing this feature but could not pin point what I was missing.
I found that completing tasks in Wrike was not easy as "microsoft todo" . the only reason being that microsoft todo has an interface which is more simple than Wrike ( though I know microsoft to do currently is at a very early stages of development and cannot compare the features of Wrike at this stage) and has a task reminder option. I would like to urge the development team to pls push the reminder option and also have a location where such reminders are collected for the day in focus. thank you ashish
Hi all, the status of this post is not updated, however, I want to let you know that the team is beginning to review how notifications in general work and this thread are part of that research. It's too early to provide you any details around this exact idea being scoped at this stage but I'll be sure to keep you updated with any new information I have during this broader research 👍
Searching for a solution to remind my asegnees to attend outdated tasks I found this thread from 2017, please @WrikeTeam consider an option in the settings of general notifications or individually in every task to select the recurrence of that reminder notifications, for example, vía email or via Wrike Bot in his task, to not flood Outlook sometimes.
All the best 🤞
I agree totally. I also like to see that the reminder goes to the persons email address or at least as an option. We are using Wrike to monitori our customers software and hardware contracts with different maufactors and we add them in to a folder by using a request form where we set a start date and end date. We also like to be able to set a remider date in the request form so we got time to contact the customer and see if the like to extend the support.
Any updates to reminders? It's annoying and inefficient that I have to set my due date as the reminder date and keep moving it.
I'd like to see a due date for each task and a reminder setting (with option for time would be even better) that shows up on my dashboard so I know when to followup on the progress of a task. Otherwise if I set only a due date, the task gets buried down on my dashboard. Therefore I have to use the due date as the reminder date.
Hey guys, jumping in here to let you know that the general research on notifications continues, but no updates on task reminders at the moment. I'll get back to you here when I have news 👍
Thanks for posting!

So, 2,5 years and still no news?
Agreed. Not sure why this feature has not been enabled yet, despite all the requests! If the Email Notifications function is already working, why can't we get it working at the Task level?
Same here. I do not understand how such a simple and key feature is missing in a project management tool. It's really a pity considering how well the programs works in general
I totally agree with the above and have added a +1 for some kind of reminder functionality. We used to use Central Desktop until it went to iMeet, and this element was top class. Basically you set a task and then have a 'set reminders' tab. I could then set multiple reminders for this task or event such as:
It allowed any combination via drop boxes and also allowed a reminder to be set for a specific date/time. It also allowed the assignor and assignees to set their own reminders.
This functionality really would set Wrike way above the competition as the rest of it is excellent but I think 165 requests for this feature must surely say it is something that is missing which should be there.
As far as Outlook integration goes for reminders, forget it. I have the Wrike app on my personal phone so I can choose when and if I log on to view status of projects, or to update something if I am on leave and something pops in to my head, or I want to assign a task to someone while I'm away. I do not have my work emails (Outlook) on my personal phone.
Edit: I just checked and it still has this, albeit seemingly slightly less detailed, functionality, but this is something which would be ideal. Below is a screen capture I just took showing 3 reminders set for a task as, as we get older, reminders are one thing we definitely need several of.
+1 to this request. It is a no brainer. I'm not too thrilled about it backburner-ed either. Can someone explain the "why" with a bit more details? I feel someone owes us an explanation for passing on fundamentals.
+1 to this. I am used to work with Jira whre you can set reminders at task level. Please have reminders on tasks implemented soon. This is a real loss fro wrike. Thks!
I'm adding our vote in for this feature as well. We are looking to integrate a large project we have in another management tool over to Wrike and this missing feature is what has stopped us. I am actually surprised that a project management tool as well put together as Wrike doesn't have reminder and scheduled alert functions other than gantt relationships between tasks.
PLEASE make this a thing!
We refer to wrike as "The Black Hole" -- Sadly we have to use Todoist and Google Calendar because Wrike can't compete with a simple a task manager for reminders. Please fix this. Your sales staff told us this functionality was present when it clearly isn't. Please fix.

At least we need that the Wrike Bot post not only one time after the dependant task is complete, instead, It need an option to post more frequently for the unattended tasks.
Hi everyone, thank you so much for your use-cases! I totally understand where you're coming from with this, the suggestion definitely interests our Product team. I'll let you know when the team takes it in on and starts the investigation!

This is the number one thing our team requests, and honestly the only thing that will make people in my office actually use it. We have an office of all ages and many people are not accustomed to using an online app like this. Thus, the inbox "snooze" function is obsolete. I also tried integrate and it cannot get down to the specific task level as detailed as we need it (for example, adding a specific task to an Outlook calendar so that at least the outlook can send a reminder). IF WRIKE DOES NOT DEVELOP THIS BY THE END OF THIS YEAR WE WILL LEAVE. It has become evident after a two year trial that without email reminders or easy connectivity to Outlook calendar, our office will not successfully adopt wrike. You guys are seriously missing out on what your customers need.
We tried using for a year but I couldn't get user acceptance without a reminder function and I was the only one using so we won't be renewing.
Developers, any update with the Reminder option?
Wrike is dying in our company, no one answer his tasks because I am not still personally go behind them every time they unattended.
It would be great to see this upvoted more. My company also does not use Google applications.
Hi there!
The status is not updated at the moment, but the team is planning to review and possibly address notifications next year. I can't promise anything at the moment, but I'll keep you updated.

This exact topic came up again at our last Director meeting and we have chosen not to renew our subscription because of this lack of basic functionality which is really making this app more work than it should be to maintain.
I've never dealt with a developer who has such an overwhelming user request for a relatively basic feature, yet chooses to ignore it.
Sad as the rest of the software is good, but it appears the waiting for this to happen is fruitless so we are going back to iMeet Central.
Exactly, they choose to ignore, we just are waiting to the end of our license, I don't continue to remember every coworker to check his wrike app and his tasks so it is only there forgotten, and just for this lack of features.
I agree - we are essentially phasing out Wrike due to lack of this function; the need for reminders constantly forces us into other software/services that has this function. We use project management software to get *out* of our email inboxes to track progress; to have to set up email reminders is a step back.
I’ve moved on with Smartsheet for 99.5% of my projects. Not as zippy of an interface as Wrike but I get the ability to do exactly as my original post requests and I also get to have other functionality requested in many other posts by myself and other users. Microsoft is making great improvements with their Project Online product. It’s really looking to be a very viable option, especially given the deep rooted interoperability with the whole Office 365 service. Those competing with Microsoft should sleep with one eye open.
