Your Help Needed - Wrike Research ๐
Hello Community!
Do you remember how you or your team made the decision to start using Wrike? If so, we'd love your feedback ๐
We're currently researching how we can optimize our resources to help potential customers find the ideal work management solution for their businesses. Many organizations appoint specialists or teams to research collaborative management or any other solutions before purchasing one. We, therefore, want to ensure that all relevant resources are easily accessible.
We would really appreciate it if you could answer the following questions in the thread below:
- What resources did you use when making a purchasing decision?ย
- How easy/hard was it for you to convince your company and your team members to proceed with Wrike compared to other alternatives? Why?
- What information, materials, events, or other resources were helpful in your decision-making?
- Were any of these provided by Wrike? If so, which ones?
- How could Wrike have made this process easier for you?
A huge thank you for your help ๐

We scanned through the internet and we looked what different tools are already used at different locations of the company.ย
It was not hard, as Wrike was used before at some locations in US. So we have been told to evaluate Wrike by comapny haedquarter because other sides already used it.
We made a scan via internet and compared first. Then we contacted companies for presentation (we did not get one from Wrike). After that we discussed which product we should test. At the end company headqurter decided for us to try Wrike. We tried it and it was not best fit for us, but as company wide decision was for Wrike we started to use it (still I see it is not perfect but we learned to live with it more or less).
No. We used licenses available in the company for a test run.
Some people helping. Just a contact giving information and also showing setting up first things. Support from other companies was much better in this direction. If we wouldn't have been told by headquarter to use Wrike we would have done it. So using Wrike is a kind of accident in our company becuase some locations in us started to use it.
I searched for and reviewed about 38 different offerings. Started with information online, and eventually discussions and trials with selected potential candidates. Organized the information in a spreadsheet. First round, ruled out any solution that was too expensive or clearly did not offer required features. Second round, identified what features they offered or were missing and scored those results to see which ones were the closest match to what we needed, and added 3rd party review scores. Third round, based on scores, features, and costs, chose the top options to move forward with demos and trials. Narrowed it down in the end to the most important feature offerings at an acceptable price range. Wrike did not check all the boxes (and still doesn't) but it did offer some very crucial features that we required. I originally chose a competitor but discovered that they lacked a required capability and then circled back to Wrike.
Not too hard as I had the authority to make the final decision.ย
Information online, products own web site, 3rd party reviews, feature sets, phone conversations/sales assistance, demos/trials, cost analysis.
Yes, information, sales assistance/demo, trial.
Allow longer trial and a cancellation period. From my experience, it takes a good amount of time to really try these out and see what's actually going to work for you. Making a quick commitment is difficult and not very practical.

Thank you for providing this info, everyone ๐ค

I was not involved with Wrike when we first came on board, but I did look last year to see what else was out in the world and what our sister companies were using. So I can speak to that, but not our initial purchase.
I mostly used trial periods and self-driven demos. I had a sample project with key tasks we would regularly have.
This one I can't answer. I know it was probably difficult for Joey and Michael because we had been using Smartsheet and Basecamp and the cost for Wrike was a lot higher.
I really just had to test-drive the product. I watched many videos and looked at reviews, but I mostly just tried it out.
We already had Wrike so it was easy for me to compare the sample project in Wrike to the other programs.
I think I mostly did the reviewing this way because I really dislike the hard sell or insistent salespeople. I really didn't like Monday.com because their salesperson was really pushing me to put him in touch with my boss and other people in the company. That really isn't the way we work. I'm sure it is an effective sales tool, but it really makes me uncomfortable.
Kelly R Thank you so much for sharing your experience, it's so helpful ๐
