Your Help Needed - Wrike Research ๐Ÿ“Œ

Hello Community!

Do you remember how you or your team made the decision to start using Wrike? If so, we'd love your feedback ๐Ÿ‘‡

We're currently researching how we can optimize our resources to help potential customers find the ideal work management solution for their businesses. Many organizations appoint specialists or teams to research collaborative management or any other solutions before purchasing one. We, therefore, want to ensure that all relevant resources are easily accessible.

We would really appreciate it if you could answer the following questions in the thread below:

  • What resources did you use when making a purchasing decision?ย
  • How easy/hard was it for you to convince your company and your team members to proceed with Wrike compared to other alternatives? Why?
  • What information, materials, events, or other resources were helpful in your decision-making?
  • Were any of these provided by Wrike? If so, which ones?
  • How could Wrike have made this process easier for you?

A huge thank you for your help ๐Ÿ’š

  1. What resources did you use when making a purchasing decision?ย Our organization tested a number of programs, had representatives walked through the system, projects were tested in the system
  2. How easy/hard was it for you to convince your company and your team members to proceed with Wrike compared to other alternatives? Why?ย From what I have been told, there was a consensus pretty early that Wrike would be the preferred tool.
  3. What information, materials, events, or other resources were helpful in your decision-making?ย Consultants from Wrike and others gave guided presentations, they also assisted in identifying levels of subscription needed. Comparison charts of features. ย
  4. Were any of these provided by Wrike? If so, which ones?ย Yes, all of them
  5. How could Wrike have made this process easier for you?ย From what I was told it was very smooth when dealing with the Wrike team.ย

Just scheduled!

  • What resources did you use when making a purchasing decision?ย
  • We did a lot on online side by side comparison websites - and evaluated key features - to ensure they met the base minimm requirements - then we tested using several trials for different platforms until we found the one that fit the best!
  • How easy/hard was it for you to convince your company and your team members to proceed with Wrike compared to other alternatives? Why?
  • It was pretty easy to convince leadership and teams to buy into Wrike as the work collaboration tool - many of our teams didn't have any project management tools, or centralized work platforms, so Wrike was very refreshing to have everything in one place
  • What information, materials, events, or other resources were helpful in your decision-making?
  • In the beginning it was a lot of demoing the tool.ย  We'd also spent a significant amount of time, defining our PMIS requirements, so it was easy to go down the list of all the things Wrike offered
  • Were any of these provided by Wrike? If so, which ones?
  • Our Wrike partners were there for us from the beginning, leading demos, showcasing new features - providing guidance and suggestions along the way
  • How could Wrike have made this process easier for you?
  • I honestly think the Wrike team made this as easy as possible, they were also very patient allowing us the time to work through our internal process refinements, and adjusting where needed

  • What resources did you use when making a purchasing decision?ย
  • We met with some people in our company using other tools to see them and we also utilized free trials/demo accounts of some other software options. I personally had an entire checklist of criteria that the software we would go with had to meet in order to be useful for our department. At the time, I was only specing out for my department, not the whole company.ย
  • How easy/hard was it for you to convince your company and your team members to proceed with Wrike compared to other alternatives? Why?
  • If I recall correctly, we needed to do some convincing of upper management, but since another department was rumored to also be looking into/using/setting up Wrike, it made it easier. Price is the most likely culprit. By this point we had eliminated the alternatives that we already had access to and that was largely due to the fact that development time was needed to set it up, and we couldn't do it ourselves, so we would have had to wait a year or longer to get set up.ย
  • What information, materials, events, or other resources were helpful in your decision-making?
  • The free demo account was really useful to check out and test the functionality we needed! I didn't have decision power in terms of price so I can't speak to what my coworkers had access to for that.ย
  • Were any of these provided by Wrike? If so, which ones?
  • The demo account was definitely provided by Wrike!
  • How could Wrike have made this process easier for you?
  • I think how you organize and work with new clients today is pretty different from 2017, but I would say that we could have saved our company a bit of a headache in 2018 if Wrike had let us know we were attempting to set up 2 different Wrike accounts within our same company! We hadn't known that since our instance was for a small team of people and in a completely different department from the other instance. Also being able to provide pricing and ROI upfront would be helpful.ย

  • What resources did you use when making a purchasing decision?ย

We scanned through the internet and we looked what different tools are already used at different locations of the company.ย

  • How easy/hard was it for you to convince your company and your team members to proceed with Wrike compared to other alternatives? Why?

It was not hard, as Wrike was used before at some locations in US. So we have been told to evaluate Wrike by comapny haedquarter because other sides already used it.

  • What information, materials, events, or other resources were helpful in your decision-making?

We made a scan via internet and compared first. Then we contacted companies for presentation (we did not get one from Wrike). After that we discussed which product we should test. At the end company headqurter decided for us to try Wrike. We tried it and it was not best fit for us, but as company wide decision was for Wrike we started to use it (still I see it is not perfect but we learned to live with it more or less).

  • Were any of these provided by Wrike? If so, which ones?

No. We used licenses available in the company for a test run.

  • How could Wrike have made this process easier for you?

Some people helping. Just a contact giving information and also showing setting up first things. Support from other companies was much better in this direction. If we wouldn't have been told by headquarter to use Wrike we would have done it. So using Wrike is a kind of accident in our company becuase some locations in us started to use it.

  • What resources did you use when making a purchasing decision?ย

I searched for and reviewed about 38 different offerings. Started with information online, and eventually discussions and trials with selected potential candidates. Organized the information in a spreadsheet. First round, ruled out any solution that was too expensive or clearly did not offer required features. Second round, identified what features they offered or were missing and scored those results to see which ones were the closest match to what we needed, and added 3rd party review scores. Third round, based on scores, features, and costs, chose the top options to move forward with demos and trials. Narrowed it down in the end to the most important feature offerings at an acceptable price range. Wrike did not check all the boxes (and still doesn't) but it did offer some very crucial features that we required. I originally chose a competitor but discovered that they lacked a required capability and then circled back to Wrike.

  • How easy/hard was it for you to convince your company and your team members to proceed with Wrike compared to other alternatives? Why?

Not too hard as I had the authority to make the final decision.ย

  • What information, materials, events, or other resources were helpful in your decision-making?

Information online, products own web site, 3rd party reviews, feature sets, phone conversations/sales assistance, demos/trials, cost analysis.

  • Were any of these provided by Wrike? If so, which ones?

Yes, information, sales assistance/demo, trial.

  • How could Wrike have made this process easier for you?

Allow longer trial and a cancellation period. From my experience, it takes a good amount of time to really try these out and see what's actually going to work for you. Making a quick commitment is difficult and not very practical.

I was not involved with Wrike when we first came on board, but I did look last year to see what else was out in the world and what our sister companies were using. So I can speak to that, but not our initial purchase.

  • What resources did you use when making a purchasing decision?ย
I mostly used trial periods and self-driven demos. I had a sample project with key tasks we would regularly have.
  • How easy/hard was it for you to convince your company and your team members to proceed with Wrike compared to other alternatives? Why?
This one I can't answer. I know it was probably difficult for Joey and Michael because we had been using Smartsheet and Basecamp and the cost for Wrike was a lot higher.
  • What information, materials, events, or other resources were helpful in your decision-making?
I really just had to test-drive the product. I watched many videos and looked at reviews, but I mostly just tried it out.
  • Were any of these provided by Wrike? If so, which ones?
We already had Wrike so it was easy for me to compare the sample project in Wrike to the other programs.
  • How could Wrike have made this process easier for you?
I think I mostly did the reviewing this way because I really dislike the hard sell or insistent salespeople. I really didn't like Monday.com because their salesperson was really pushing me to put him in touch with my boss and other people in the company. That really isn't the way we work. I'm sure it is an effective sales tool, but it really makes me uncomfortable.
