[Interviews] Charts - Your Feedback is Needed ๐Ÿ“Š

Hello, Community!
ย
Iโ€™m Lucie, a Product Designer at Wrike ๐Ÿ‘‹
ย
Our team is currently researching improvements to our reporting, specifically how intuitive it is to work with charts that display different workflows.
ย
Weโ€™d like to hear your ideas and feedback from Wrike Analyze on how we can enhance your experience and make them even better for you. We have a few questions to get the brainstorming going below ๐Ÿ‘‡
ย
1) Do you prefer to see statuses of the same name, but from different workflows merged, or is it important to distinguish between them on the chart?
Example: When you have a "Completed" status for Marketing workflow and a "Completed" status for Sales workflow.
ย
ย
2) If statuses share a name, but belong to a different status group or have different colors, would you like to merge them anyway or leave them separated?
Example: When you have two statuses called "Completed" included in one workflow, but one is green and one is red in order to differentiate them on a particular basis, i.e. success.
ย
3) Is there a case when you want to filter the chart by workflow to see only tasks from a specific workflow?
Example: Tasks within the Marketing workflow.
ย
Please share your feedback in the comments under this post, and whether you'd be interested in dedicating some time to an interview โœจ
ย
Thank you so much for all your help!

We don't have Wrike Analyze yet - BUT I would think it would make the most sense to combine the statuses where applicable (ie Multiple Completed, On hold and deferred) - it might be a bit trickier to group together active workflow, since by nature, they can represent many different things

I'm in agreement with Sherrie. To me, the multiple "Completed" is confusing. If you wanted to see individual "Completed" or whatever the status is, you may have to create the custom workflows to reflect that specific workflow area? In my case, I have a project workflow and a task work flow therefore, I would rather have combined and if I want separated, I would create the workflow to actually reflect each (ex. "Task Completed" and "Project Completed").

Why not use Task Status Group? We leverage this in our Wrike Analyze reports, since we have data with multiple task work flows in the same project.

1) If you needed to filter by workflow you could use a Break By or widget filter in most widgets in Wrike Analyze. Leaving Completed as the same in all contexts seems fine.

2) The option to filter/break by task status colour would be useful generally. As in #1 I wouldn't bake this in to the functionality though.

3) I do so frequently. I do this often in Wrike Analyze.

Thank everybody for your replies. :)
Kevin Thalacker, Aloi Calvert Can you elaborate on how you would use the Task Status group? In some edge cases, a status of the same name might belong to different status groups and thus means something else. I suspect these should not be merged; what do you think?

Hi Lucie,
ย
1) I think it depends on the complexity of your project and the number of workflows used, as it will impact the results in your report. We have many workflows and it's importantย  for us to distinguish between them on the chart (ie. I usually filter by workflow to narrow down the results on the the report).ย
ย
2) I purposely made sure this never happens within a workflow, to make it very clear for the users when they change a status and avoid confusion when the status is used as a filter in any report (filters wont show me the status colour I'm looking for necessary)ย ย
ย
3) Definitely! I use workflows for general project tasks, meetings, risk management, finance, etc. It makes it very simple to narrow down what I'm looking for by filtering workflows (or custom fields).
