[Wrike Labs Release] Wrike Drop - New Table, Board, and Calendar View now in Labs ๐ฌ ๐ฅ
Hi Community!
Today we are excited to announce not one but three new releases for Wrike Labs: A new Table, Board, and Calendar View ๐
We'd like to thank all of you who helped us shape the new features by participating in open and private betas and interviews with our Product team. Thank you for your willingness to share your time - we appreciate your feedback!
Why are we releasing these new and enhanced views? ๐
Our Product team always strives to improve your experience with Wrike and this is just the start of the evolution of our platform, we have a lot of exciting things coming. We constantly review your feedback here in the Community and on our other feedback channels, as well as track various metrics, so we want to thank you for your feedback and for helping us shape our roadmap. We are also researching non-stop to be able to bring the most relevant solutions with the most positive impact. The new Table and Board Views bring enhancements to already familiar ways of working in Wrike, and the Calendar View is a brand new view that complements the standalone Calendar tool. We hope youโll enjoy these new views!ย
Whatโs next? โฉ
For now, we are happy to invite you to enable our enhanced views, try them out and share your feedback. We will be posting separate content for the three views so that itโs easier for you to let us know your thoughts. Our Product team is very eager for your feedback as they continue enhancing those new views. Please note that being a Wrike Labs release, the New Table and Board Views, as well as the new Calendar View, are experimental and subject to change.
So what's new in the...?
New Table View ๐
The New Table view allows you for easier onboarding and provides a faster and smoother way to manage your work. Our table view offers the flexibility and collaboration you need in a spreadsheet-like format youโre familiar with, but with an additional ability to visualize a complex hierarchy of work. Table view allows you to drill down into the details of each item to extract the exact information that you need to make effective decisions. Using the new view you now can:
- Navigate around the table with an item open on the right panel (i.e. task or project) and switch easily to another task with one click.
- Create and manage your work items.
- Use the new and improved custom field management.
- Expect faster loading times compared to the classic Table viewโณ
- Expand and collapse your work to the next level of subitems.

New Board View ๐
The New Board View is an easy-to-understand, drag-and-drop Kanban-style view that allows you to see all your tasks in a project, folder, or space in a simple layout, grouped by the status of the item. Using the new view you now can:
- View subtasks from the board itself! This was a highly demanded feature request by the Community - thank you for your continuous support.
- Adjust the order of the columns.
- Edit workflows, and use any workflow, not just the folder default. Each folder can have multiple custom views with boards by different workflows.
- View start date & duration and custom fields in relation to tasks on the cards.
- Use the new panel to view tasks on the right side, keeping your board visible and interactive.

ย
New Calendar View ๐
The New Calendar View allows you to quickly visualize your work items such as tasks, projects, and custom item types on a timeline to keep track of what needs to be worked on and when. It gives a week/month/quarter/yearly overview to help you make decisions on what needs to be added or rescheduled in the current projects. Build interactive roadmaps for products and campaigns internally or for your customers. Easily rank the progress of your current and future work.ย ย
Using the new view you now can:
- Display, create, or reschedule any type of work items from any view (week, month, quarter, year).
- Show or hide sub-items and week numbers.
- Filter items you want to see in each view.
- Share your timeline internally and externally by creating public links.

How can you enable the new views?
You can find all the views in Wrike Labs. When you enable the set of new views from Wrike Labs the new views will be added to your current views as an additional set (the New Board view, New Table view, Calendar view).
The views can be enabled on the individual user level. You can always disable the feature and go back to the previous version.

Please share your questions, feedback, or thoughts in the comments - we'd love to hear what you think of the latest releases๐
These all look so clean and intuitive. Looking forward to trying them out. Thank you, Wrike Team! ๐
Thank you Taylor Patterson!
The new calender view is a major enhancement. However, I'd suggest that it should be possible to remove weekends from the view or that tasks do not overlap. Otherwise, all tasks overlap with the weekends (Month view) but actually the should only be displayed on workdays.
Thank you for sharing your feedback Sebastian, passing it on to our team now๐๐ผ
I assume this is still in beta??
At first glance, I am not a fan of the new Table view. It takes up more space than the current Table view.ย Will there be a "compact" viewing option?
As others have reported, there are missing fields and some calculated fields may not be working.ย ย
Layout has some bugs. I have a percentage custom field that is rendering "off screen" to the far left of the column. Looks like the bar is centered and the actual value (such as 80%) is spilling out of the column to the left. Even if I make the column really wide, it doesn't move.
Can't edit custom fields from the column header by right clicking. Actually, the entire context menu isn't there so you can't edit, aggregate, insert column, hide column, etc.
Can't freeze columns for scrolling left and right.
Hi Jason Pontius, this is not a beta but a Labs release - but it's similar to a beta where the team still collects feedback for the general release.ย
I will share your feedback with the team and raise a ticket for the bug concerns ๐๐ผ
@...ย Interesting that you say that this is "not a beta but a Labs release". Whereas in the other thread that I posted you specifically stated "Hi team, could you look into the bugs reported by the community member?" and Ksenia replied with "The New Table view is still a beta feature".ย ย
So which is it? Beta or not beta? Regardless, there are still some major issues with it that makes it not usable, such as missing Effort and Time Spent. Without this data, the view is not useful to me.
Thank you.
Jason Pontius You appear extremely intelligent and wise in the ways of software. I am not as wise and felt comfortable equating beta with labs since both have bugs that we get to share directly with developers to improve a product we all use. I personally find that direct line exceptional and kind of fun. @... has submitted a ticket with your well-stated bugs, so fingers crossed that they will all be solved soon.ย
I wanted to say that I find it intimidating to post on the Wrike forums because there are many things I don't know that are basic to other users. I do post though because I want to learn. And hopefully, my posts help other slightly intimidated users to feel comfortable posting as well. If we are going to focus on industry terms and semantics, I will probably feel less inclined to participate. Especially if my words are pulled out of my posts and used as examples of perceived misstatements. I would love to have a friendly group of experts to bounce ideas off and ask questions. Thanks.
Hi Jason Pontius, thank you for posting. I should have been more explicit about the difference, I meant not beta testing such as what we publish on Betas and More but available in Labs. Both channels are used to share features that are open to change and improvement and to collect feedback from users.ย
Hi Kelly R, please don't hesitate to ask, comment, or share anything Wrike from beginner to advanced level! Community is open to all levels of users and we strive to provide resources and space for everyone to participate๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Hi,
As others already reported, there are some important missing features in the new table view, such as:
- The drag and drop possibility -> useful to spear time in table view where mass editing is still not possible
- The effort column -> As Wrike is a collaborative tool, measuring and allocate the effort is quite important in our team.
Nevertheless, I'm glad to test this new lab feature and to see some other cases have been resolved with this evolution, such as hide completed projects in table view and still see active tasksย ๐
Hi Diandra Di Dio, thank you for sharing your feedback!ย
Any update on when the additional fields such as Effort and Time Spent will show up in the New Table view?
Also, freezing columns, aggregating, edit custom field, etc. ??
ย
Thank you.
Hi Jason Pontius, we'll be sharing all releases and updates in our Weekly Release Notes when the features are out of Wrike Labs and available in all accounts. Please follow the forum to receive weekly updates from us as an email notification๐๐ผ
Hello,
Is there still a way with the new Table to view the "SUM" of a column?ย
Thanks,
Hi Pierre-Luc leger, welcome to the Community, and thank you for posting.ย
Yes, it's possible, you'd need to create a new custom field and select which values [custom fields] you'd like to apply a formula:ย
I don't think this was the question. I think Pier-Luc Beaulieu was asking about showing a SUM of a column, not creating a custom field to show a formula BETWEEN column values.ย
This relates to my post about the missing context menu when right clicking on the column headers. With no context menu, no hover links (such as enable rollup) and no other menus to provide these items, there is no way to set Aggregation, Rollup, or to Edit Custom Field.
As far as I can tell, there is no way to add a Sum or Average to any column/field in this new view. It lacks a lot, including fields (effort, time spent, budgetary fields). Hopefully it will be fully developed before it is launched.
Jason Pontius yes, you are correct. This is exactly what I was asking. Thank you for clarifying.ย
Also missing drag/drop and mass edit functions with the new rollout, so jumping in here to add support for those.ย
Not sure this was mentioned above but also noticed the past due tasks are no longer red in the new table view. This is definitely something we like along with the compact view of the old table view. We also use the drag ability when changing assignee's, statuses, etc. and that's function isn't in the new table view.
ย
Hi folks! Our team is planning to add mass actions, drag-fill, multi-cell copy/paste, along with other updates. We'll keep you informed ๐

Hello, I'm wondering how I can add subitems into board view as I cannot seem to figure this out. It doesn't show my subitems on its own.ย
Hi Ardiana Sinani, welcome to the forums ๐ย
It's not currently possible to see subitems on their own in the Board view, only as part of their parent tasks.ย
