I'd like to be able to generate pivot tables that show side by side lists of project or task names. The most basic option I'd like to generate is breakout by quarter. Ideally I would like to have project name in the first column and then columns for the upcoming quarters with the tasks due in each quarter listed in their respective column. I see two ways to approach this, but there are limitations for both of these options that prevent it from working.
First I can add task name several times to the table as a row object and then filter each of those rows by date\quarter. The problem there is that a filter cannot be applied to a row object based on another data point (I can't filter by due date on a row pulling in task name). I understand that it would be terribly complicated to add that depth of filtering at the row level.
Second I can add a column object for due date and set that for quarters and then add a value object for task name. The problem there is that values objects are strictly limited to numeric values, I cannot change a values object to be text based. When selecting task name as a value object it automatically configures itself as # of unique tasks.
Is there another way I could approach this?
