Custom capacity moving to work scedule
I do not get the point for moving the custom capacity to work scedules.
Up to now every team leader has set in a workload chart a custom capacity for his team and also for each person by himself. That was in the responsibility of the team leader competly.
Now you introduced custom capactity in the work scedules so admins can set it for the persons.
But why connect to the work scedules? Example: I have coworkers, several with 8h/day and one with 4h/day. All have our standard work scedule as we are using it for public holidays (as you recomment it). Now also the custom capacity is connected with the scedule. But as admin I do not have the possibility to set the 4h/day coworker to the correct time.
That means the admin sets 8h/day for all persons and the team leader has to care about the exception? That is confusing and rises problems if you have a larger workforce (what does a project manager do, who is setting up his own workload for the project? he has to know about the 4h/day but he sees in Wrike 8h/day). So you have wrong information in Wrike, that is dangerous.
A second scedule for a specific coworker is also no option as I would have to care about several scedules than if making one for every exception (the one coworker was only an example, we have more different exceptions than that).
So how is the working with this new feature planned? What is the idea behind and how should one use it?
Hi Sven Passinger, thanks a lot for your feedback! I've spoken with the relevant team and passed your feedback. Please let me share some context in relation to custom capacity in work schedules.
There are multiple reasons behind those changes. First of all, custom capacity was previously a Workload chart attribute and it caused some challenges:
I hope this helps!

Hi Lisa
no it does not solve the problem. I can understand everything, but it makes more work for me.
Perhaps it is not clear what I meant.
Situation:
You have normal workers 8h, one with 7h, one with 6h.
So now we need three schedules and I have to care about entering holidays, company off days or whatever in three schedules.
So combining working schedules (holidays which are given for all employees) with custom capacity (which can be different for any person) is a bad concept. It doesn not help that users can change their work scedules, becaus the admin has to care about all the scedules. That makes work and increases risk of failures.
Sven
Hi Sven Passinger, thank you for the clarification here, I do understand where you're coming from.
I've shared your detailed use case with the team, so they are aware of it. If we have any updates to address this, I'll be sure to let you know.
We also currently have all our leadership managing their own team's capacity on their workload charts, so moving this to a System Admin responsibility causes challenges. I'm still digging through the documentation available in the Help and Community portals trying to find screenshots or info on where this is moving to but I'm unable to locate. Even the link from the "alert" pop-up wasn't helpful. Guess it'll be a surprise tomorrow when it's live.
Hi Meredith Selden! It's now moved to work schedules located in Settings:
If you need any more detail or would like to discuss this with your Wrike's Account team, please let me know 🙂

I see that and I'm starting to understand Sven's point. We have Capacity currently ranging from 1 to 8 hours per day. For example, we have some Managers and Directors who spend 7 hours per day in meetings and responding to emails so their "capacity" to actually work on any project task is 1 hour. We want the capacity calculation on workload charts, for everyone in that job role, to be accurate so we set 1 to 8 hours per day for each person. In order to do this under Work Schedules, I'm assuming I now need to create 7 other work schedules so I have a work schedule for each of the 1 to 8 hours capacity.
Hi Meredith Selden, thank you for chiming in here. It's correct that there is a need to create a specific schedule for each role. I'll pass on your feedback to the team and will let you know if there are any changes here👍🏼
