[Use Cases] Change Management Process ๐Ÿ”„

Today, letโ€™s talk about Change Management for IT teams and how to use the template available in Wrike to help you get started with the processes and inspired for what is possible.ย

Change Management Process

The first folder that youโ€™ll see in this template is โ€˜RFCsโ€™. RFC stands for Request For Comments and is commonly used for storing technical notes and documentation. The folder contains some sample tasks that represent examples of change management tasks for IT teams.ย 

The pre-built โ€˜Change Requestโ€™ form populates this folder with new change tasks. It uses one of the templates that weโ€™ll discuss below.ย 

The tasks created in the โ€˜RFCsโ€™ folder come with pre-created custom fields to track, filter, and report on data such as a changeโ€™s impact, rating, type, and urgency. They also capture the team requesting the change, and indicate if this is an emergency change.ย 

The tasks here use a pre-built custom workflow - โ€˜Change Managementโ€™ - with statuses representing an example of a typical flow for IT change management.ย 

The โ€˜zTemplatesโ€™ folder can be used both for creating a new change request for the IT team, and for checking all requirements for different types of changes like procedure changes, network changes, application changes, etc.ย 

The tools section includes three dashboards: โ€˜Emergency changesโ€™, โ€˜Change managerโ€™, and โ€˜Change runwayโ€™; a โ€˜Change Calendarโ€™, and a โ€˜Change Teamsโ€™ report.ย

This is a great template, but our CT department uses something else (not wrike) and has a different process set up.

This workflow appears very cool for IT teams but it doesn't work for the team for which I project manage marketing projects.

Great template, but our IT department uses JIRA to manage their work. We can use some of the ideas for other teams handling feature requests in Marketing.
