[Use Cases] Business Goals ๐ฏ
Hello, everyone ๐
Are you ready for another Use Case discussion? Today, letโs talk about business goals ๐ฏ
You may remember we discussed Goal and OKR (Objectives and Key Results) management previously on the Community, and todayโs topic is related to that. The template weโre discussing now can be a good starting point for any team that is considering moving your goal and/or OKR management to Wrike. Thereโs also a more advanced template for Objectives and Key Results that we are going to cover later ๐
- Use Case: Business Goals.
- Can be used by: Any team.
- How to launch: From the space creation dialogue.
- Functionality used: Folders, projects, tasks, a custom field, a report, a dashboard, a calendar.
- Whatโs inside: A Business Goals folder, projects representing each goal, tasks representing objectives, subtasks representing key results; an OKRs by Team folder, a Business Goals report, an Objectives calendar, an OKRs by Team dashboard.ย

Business Goals
The first folder in this template is there to store and manage your organizationโs business goals. In this folder, there are several projects that represent them. Inside each project, there is a task for an objective that needs to be completed in order to achieve a goal. There can be multiple objectives for each goal. The objectives can include several KRs (key results).
This is an easy and logical structure that gives an overview of what needs to be achieved and how. In terms of org structure, it helps distribute work efficiently too - for example, goals can be managed by the VP level executives; management can be in charge of objectives, and teams or individual contributors can own key results.
The second folder in this template holds the same information, but itโs structured differently. The OKRs here are set up by teams, and inside each team, by quarters. It gives a different perspective and is an easier way to manage objectives and key results for teams and individuals.
This template also comes with the toolโs section that includes a Business Goals report, an Objectives calendar, and an OKRs by Team dashboard.ย
How do you manage goals in your organization or team? Is it a process similar to how this template is built-out, or do you have a different one? Please share below!ย

Great use case and one we probably should take a look at. Currently, we don't have a formal process.
Love this! We currently just created a folder and try to keep track of those things we have done. The company pulled away from establishing yearly goals through Covid. If they start back up, this will be a great tool!
We don't have a formal process that I am aware of and this looks like a clean and simple way of organizing and viewing.ย
We don't have a process for this in Wrike, but I would love to set this up - this is a great start!!
We report on Company Goals in Wrike - but we don't have tasks like this.ย
I'm glad to hear this can be helpful to you ๐ค As I mentioned in the post, we'll also be doing a detailed guide on a more advanced template on OKRs ๐

We do track Business and personal goals, but not in Wrike. This could help us with our program goals that are spread across multiple organizations.
Love that this is a template. We use other software for goals, but this is great nonetheless!
This is a great use case and one we probably should take a look at. For our work, we do not use Goals and OKR management but it is possible that they are used on another level. I am interested to learn more about this and how Wrike can help!
Thanks for your comments, everyone! It's great that these templates inspire conversations and you share how your teams approach different use cases ๐

This is a great use case. We have a process, but it's not currently captured in Wrike.ย
I just joined this company last year and they just started to use Wrike. This will be a big help for us. Thank you!
Great use case example built within Wrike
