Schedule Tasks Hourly in Gantt Charts
Hello WRIKE Team and Community ๐,
As of today, it is not possible to make a task start or finish at a fixed hour in the Gantt Chart view. Wrike allows to constraint the beginning of a task but only at a day scale, not being more precise.
This matter does not seem to be taken into account in the new Wrike Lab release "Add times to date custom fields".
- It would be very helpful to be able to manage hour per hour or even per half-hour the beginning and end of a short task.
In addition, once you have scheduled a short task (2 hours for example) and you want to move it with your mouse, it is only possible to move a task by 24 hours. Whereas I somentimes need to only move it one hour later or sooner. To do so, I need to (kind of) cheat using the duration and starting day but it is not really conformtable.
- Do you think some improvements could be brought to WRIKE to better manage planning at hour scale?
Last idea would be to have real hours at the top of the Gantt Chart instead of "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 (see picture below)
Hope those ideas will also fit other users need,
Best regards,
Martin.
Hello Martin MELCHIOR, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback here, it's much appreciated.ย
At the moment, time support in the date custom field is only available in Task view and Table view as explained in this Community post. Since this is a Labs feature the team continues their research and development for this function. We'll make sure to keep you updated if there are any changes ๐
@... Thank you for your responsiveness. I am aware of the community post and I trully hope this feature will be spread to Gantt Chart Mode ๐
It would also be nice to have the option of changing the number of hours in a day.ย
We do a lot of factory machine commissioning where downtime is costly so the projects run 12 or more hours in a day.
Noted, thanks for sharing Philip Wingate, we've passed this on to our Product team ๐
Also, welcome to the Community! If there's anything else we can help with here, please don't hesitate to ask ๐
