It would be nice to be able to trigger an automation based on assignments:
If a tasks is assigned
If a tasks is assigned to a specific person
If a tasks assignment is changed

I don't believe this addressed the problem. I wanted to check in to see if there had been any movement on this. Looking for when a task is assigned, approval will be created with the same assignee, or it could be used for any assignee as well. Then if possible, prompt for a description and due dates. The problem we are having is that the task is created but the person moving things along does not assign someone or doesn't create an approval. Then, when they prompt for action, the assignee comes in and adds a comment or file and maybe changes the status, but doesn't complete the approval.

Right now, there isn’t an automation trigger that directly says “when a task is assigned, create an approval with the same assignee,” or one that prompts for description/due dates in exactly the way you described. I’ll keep an eye on this topic and share an update if more assignment‑based automation or approval‑creation triggers become available 🙏
