Allow form submitters to only view their requests within a space
Hi! I need help achieving the following workflow:
I need for users to submit a request form and for them to be able to:
1) access that request without being able to change the status 2)with them only having access to edit specific custom fields
I need for all requests to be stored in a single space/project/folder, but for the submitter to only be able to view requests they've submitted.
I can achieve the ability to restrict them from editing the task via access roles, but because access roles are space-specific, I have to add them to the space, thus giving them access to view all requests in that space.
Can you please advise?
If you are an administrator you can also change people to be a collaborator or external user which impacts what they can see. Futhermore you can also choose to only share the folders with the people.
Like this, this will only allow them to see that one folder and all the things in it but not have access to the whole space.
You can also work around to show the space to nobody and let people have their own dashboard. That way they will only see the tasks they submitted on their own dashboard if you put the settings on author.
Hope this was able to help a bit
Thank you Pieter! This would work, but I think this would also still allow them access to everything within that folder. It's super super important that we have confidentiality though and that they are not able to see anything other than their requests. Does that make sense?
Yeah I get that. Then I think working with the personal dashboards may be the best option. That way they will only see the projects they send and nobody will have to have access to the space then.
So i have one for all my ongoing projects. I myself am the author of the request and so this dashboard will show all my projects with the status in progress. If you make one, you could duplicate it for each person so that they only see the projects and tasks on their dashboards without having to have access to the space.
Ah, I see! With this option, I'll still need my submitters to have restricted privileges. For example, they should not be able to change statuses and should only have access to view/edit certain custom fields. Do you know if this will still be possible if I go the dashboard route?
Thanks so much for working through this with me, by the way!
Hi Cree Robinson, I see that you have a call scheduled with your Wrike Representative about this. Please feel free to ask if you've any other questions 🙋🏻♀️
