Wrike form "Add Prefix" functionality

Problem: Currently only a single answer to a form's question can be used with the auto "Add Prefix" function.

Suggestion: Allow multiple answers from a form to concatenate for the prefix like the form question "Title" does.

Additional Suggestion: All answers to auto add suffixes as well.

Additionally, it would be ideal if the default behavior of bookending a prefix with character [brackets], and/or the  dashed character (ex: " - ") spacers added on concatenated title responses could be modified.

Hi Community! I'd like to mention there is a new action in Automation that allows you to automatically add prefixes to new or existing items. You can learn more about it here.

Would you please let us know if this enhancement fulfills this suggestion? Looking forward to your feedback!

Hi Juan,

For us sadly no, the ability to add prefix/suffix with an automation does not help our use case unfortunately, as the automation cannot use a PULL and then a PUT. It can only apply a static prefix instead of dynamic prefixes.

Ideally, if the automation could look to a data source, eg. data that have been entered into a Custom Field like "Project Code" or whatever, and then use these data as the prefix/suffix, then this WOULD be super useful and resolve an issue we have with the way a prefix is (not really) applied from Request Forms as mentioned here.

Additionally, it would be ideal to have the option of adding generic suffix "consecutive numbers, starting from xx" or similar, but again, not yet possible.

I'm looking for the same functionality as Angela!  To be specific, when I change the value of a custom (single-select) field, I would like that value to be added as a prefix automatically.

I can do this by creating rules for each value of the custom field, and then under "add prefix" re-entering each field value.  This method requires a new automation rule for each value of the custom field, and it is tedious and potentially error-causing to set up, and in my case would lead to more than 15 separate rules.

  1. If I could just say, "when x field changes to selected field values, add prefix [x field value]," this would be ideal, since it would give me control over which field values I wanted to use to create prefixes, and avoid errors in set up, and replace 15 separate rules with just one.
  2. It would also be nice if the prefix could update and not just get tacked on to the beginning of the task's name--but if Number 1 was implemented it would be a vast improvement over what exists now.

After testing automation suffix the feature is not helpful in a major area for us. We need to add suffixes when using Blueprints like how prefixes work currently. We would like the task in a project to state the action needed first and then a suffix. This is especially helpful for editors, designers, media, etc. where many tasks look identical within their dashboard (except for the project name attached).

A suffix option when creating from Blueprints would be awesome, as stated by users for years now.

Example: Design 1 XYZ Manual versus XYZ Manual Design 1. Many times, XYZ Manual is a much longer title.

However, the automation is impressive.
