Gantt Chart Printing Features
To continue the feedback related to printing Gantt charts, I have started this new post as recommended by Lisa. The requests for features typically seen and requested for Gantt chart printing options span back over 3 years. Wrike added one feature last year; to include the table when saving the PDF snapshot. This was not inclusive of all of the feedback and requests received so this thread is to further the drive for the desired Gantt chart printing options.
I invite the community to compile all of the feedback posted since 2018 into this new thread with a clean list of needed printing options for Gantt charts so everyone can up vote it, follow it, add to it, and make this an important focus for Wrike developers.
Thank you and happy posting.
Thank you for bumping this thread Mark Jarder! We don't have updates at the moment; I'll share your interest with our team now 👍
Welcome to the forums, and please let me know if I can help you with anything else 🙂

Thank you, SARRAZIN Hervé for your added feedback here. We have been telling Wrike for years now that this is a missing fundamental feature of a project management platform. They have failed to do anything about it. So as much as I see this as a major flaw with the core features of Wrike (my opinion is that any real PM software provides these tools), I gave up fighting for it because it's never budged.
Merci pour soutenir cette suggestion, SARRAZIN Hervé!
Sorry to hear this situation is causing you issues, Jason Pontius, please rest assured that we're passing all your feedback on to our dedicated team.
We will keep you updated in case any changes are implemented!
Hi all,
Also adding the requirement for better printing/exporting functionality. Currently we are resorting to printscreen which is very pore quality. This is the only way we are not wasting a lot of paper.
Then after printscreening we add a row with week numbers manually. All in all quite a lot of work to get a workable overview...
It is unfortunate that requests like these don't get enough attention/likes to be put on the roadmap. What is the threshold to get topics like these on the roadmap?
kind regards,
Tim
Tim Castelijn, I agree that there is no good way to perform this basic task in Wrike. Many of us have been providing feedback on this for years. This thread goes back 3 years, but other threads on this same subject go back 5 years. Wrike just doesn't seem interested in providing this basic feature that most other PM tools provide. They don't understand that we work with other companies in all types of industries that need to share proper Gantt reports, not just give them access to Wrike. That is not an acceptable solution to most outside companies. I cannot go to a construction meeting and tell the general contractor, "here just go have a look at our tool, learn how to use it, scroll around and view our Gantt." No, they need us to give them, either on paper or in a properly paged PDF report, a real Gantt chart. Other uses have left Wrike because of this very topic.
To answer your question, I don't know what else to do to get Wrike to prioritize this work. It's exhausting to continue this conversation year after year.
Jason Pontius, thank you for the reply. I find myself extracting to gantt to excel and then using ms projects to create printable/shareable PDF's for my customers.
Which replacement for Wrike would you recommend that has most of the features Wrike has but also a better Gantt chart? I'm looking to switch as some of these features which I assumed as standard are not here.
Kind regards,
Tim
Tim Castelijn That's the million dollar question. When I researched platforms 4+ years ago, I narrowed it down to Wrike based on our particular feature needs and overall value. It was not the perfect choice, just the best choice at the time. There are much better Gantt project management tools out there such as MS Project and even Primavera. But these can get expensive. And MS Project doesn't do some of the things that Wrike does beyond pure project management.
I actually had selected a different product first, but due to one major limitation we went with Wrike instead. That product has changed and has been absorbed by a larger platform these days. I am sure that most applications I reviewed back then have changed quite a bit since, so it's a bit unfair to give an honest opinion currently.
But, as you point out, having to export the data and then use MS Project to do this one thing that Wrike has neglected, is extremely unfortunate. For a project management tool, it's a glaring weakness in my opinion.
Is there an update on this? We need to share project programmes with people outside our organisation, and creating a public snapshot isn't sufficient when this needs to be in a recordable and auditable PDF.
A low quality PDF export that isn't to a defined paper size looks unprofessional and not something I'd want to circulate.
Our company would also love to see Wrike revisit this product request. We have finally developed a custom platform to share the Gantt Chart planning with our customers (using API to display our Wrike tasks), but it's a shame that Wrike hasn't updated their Gantt Chart functionality in about 9 years (since we started using Wrike!).
Thank you, everyone, for your input! 🙌🏽 Our team is currently reviewing this suggestion. We will keep you all updated if there are any further developments. Thank you! 😊

Thank you for the update, Basudha Sakshyarika. Does the Wrike team need to see examples? Have they studied Gantt charts and printing in other platforms such as MS Project and Primavera? I am sure that the Wrike community can provide lots of examples to use as references if the dev team is having a hard time grasping what we have been asking for over the last 9 years. We'd be happy to help illustrate the needs.
