Sum Numerical Custom Fields in Reports
Today, in a Report, when I add a column for a built-in Wrike field that is numerical in nature, such as "Time Spent," the report displays a sum at the bottom of that column and also a sum for each grouping in the report. It would be great if reports would also display sums for custom fields that are numerical in nature.
Our organization's use case for this is that we have a custom field that we use to apply a value for certain tasks. We would like to be able to see the total value of tasks completed by an individual in a given week.
Hi Eric Prindle, thank you for sharing your use case and your feedback. I've passed it on to our Product team 😊
We are looking at the same issue. We use a wrike request form for staff travel. I need to create a report and have the estimated and final cost columns (both custom fields) sum. The only option I can find is export to excel which isn't as turnkey as we need for our staff.
Hi Kate, thank you for posting and sharing your use case here. I'm passing on your feedback to our team🙌🏼
Has there been an update on this?
Hi Kristin Norman, welcome to the Community 👋
It's possible to use calculations in reports. Could you please check out the linked article and let me know if that was what you were looking for?

Hi Lisa,
The question is regarding having a sum for a single custom field. Using calculations will not work because you have to have two custom fields to calculate when what we are needing is the total of a single column with numerical values.
SOLUTION: CREATE AN ANALYTICS REPORT
With this new feature you can get the sum of a single custom field. Create an analytics report, pull the data from your project, add widget "Tasks by custom field", then specify the custom field you need the sum of. You can choose to display this data in a bar or pie chart.
Hi Kristin Norman, thank you for your reply! You can easily achieve this with the New Table View by using the data rollup feature:
Would this be an option for you?
Thank you!
Hi Juan,
This is exactly what myself and others have been needing! Thank you, I will share this with my team.
Kristin Norman Glad to hear that!
Please, don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions 🙂
