Commenting on Videos: Duration vs a Single Instance
When reviewing videos my team will often use a duration to describe a change, vs a single instance. It's typically a sentence or section of content that we're providing feedback on, and not being able to comment on a duration of time means we'd have to create a pin at the beginning of the duration and another at the end... This isn't a great workflow as these comments will get really cluttered, and with only 6 colors we aren't able to differentiate them from each other.
For example, when not using Wrike we might type out our feedback as such:
- 00:53-01:03 - Feedback example to a section
- 1:42-1:44 - Feedback example to a section
- 3:16 - Feedback on a single frame
Do you have plans to apply comments to durations of times instead of just single instances?
Yes! It would be nice to indicate a specific duration of a video that needs to be addressed. For instance: If the audio in a section seems off we could mark where the issue starts and stops so that the creative on the project can focus on that specific space in the project and determine what's happening and address the issue. Currently, we either leave a note somewhere in the middle of that duration or at the starting point and try to give timestamps in the comments if that's the case. It would be best if we could specify the full duration that feedback is referencing.
Thank you for your feedback, Trevor Stansberry, Kelly Hanson!
I've checked with the team - the idea is really interesting and they'll keep it on their radar 👍
