Track and Report on Changes in Scope

We frequently have projects that change scope mid-stream. Does anyone use Wrike to track and report on the frequency of changes in scope? Ideally, I'd like to be able to report to each department how frequently the scope of their projects are changing and what types of changes are occurring (scope, budget, timeline, etc.).

I've tried the custom fields but am struggling to collect all the data I need because it's not easy to track multiple scope changes for a single project there.

Has anyone used a change order process or some other type of tagging/organizing projects to keep track of this?

Hi Meghan🙂 This is an interesting question!

I tried to test this with a combination of tagging and a custom field for the scope change log.

First, I created and color-coded folders for when the scope changes for the first, second, and third time:

Then I added a text-type custom field for the scope change log:

After that, I created a report. On it, you can see the log field text and a tagged folder showing how many times the scope was changed:

Hope this can help! It would be great to hear what you've come up with for this 🙂

Thanks Lisa! Is there a character limit in the text-type custom field?

Meghan There is no known limit for text Custom Fields. We tested it with 50,000 characters and it worked 👍
