[Status: Launched ๐] Order of custom fields in the folder/project/task view
When viewing details of folder/project/task custom fields are displayed ordering them alphabetically. Such an order most of the times is not logical. For example fields starting with "%" will be displayed before any field starting with a normal letter.
For example the fields "Planned Cost", "Actual Cost", "%Cost Allocated", "Planned Man-Effort", "Actual Man-Effort", "%of Man-Effort Spent" will be displayed in the order:

Actual Cost
Actual Man-Effort
Planned Cost
Planned Man-Effort

It would more logical to be displayed in this order:
Planned Cost
Actual Cost

Please implement a feature to arrange custom fields manually and inherit it to the hierarchy below.

Agreed! I had these fields set up in a way that worked for me. I do NOT need them alphabetically, if I did I would have set it up that way. I need them the way I originally had them setup. Please change it back, or give the option to reorder them.ย

Agree with the urgency and importance of the order of custom fields.
Alphanumerical order makes absolutely no sense because it does not cluster the custom fields that are related or relevant, nor does it help in displaying the most important batch for individual use cases (for project managers, portfolio managers, regional specialists, engineers, back offiice staff, branch mangers, etc.).
We have custom fields that are used globally by various use cases, local custom fields by country, custom fields that are only relevant to certain areas or regions, etc. So naming or numbering them in a consistent way across the whole account is not possible.

Please change it back! We also had our custom fields sorted logically, not alphabetically. Alphabetic may be useful in some situations but definitely not all. Giving users the option to use the default (alpha) sort or a custom sort would be optimal.

When we originally setup our custom fields, we were advised that if we wanted to control the custom field arrangement on the project list view, use the table view and arrange columns.ย We did this, and it had worked perfectly.ย Now, the view has changed to alphabetically arranged and not helpful at all for us.ย Please give clients back the ability to arrange the custom field views so that it reflects how their project teams need to see the data.ย Thanks you for your consideration.

What's the status of allowing the admin to control the order in which custom fields are viewed on the project view like it used to be?

I find this feature is needed and have received complaints from my team about the ordering of customer fields confusing. Please add the ability to organize manually.ย
The alphabetical order of these fields is quite messy and does not make sense in regards to grouping the things together that need to be together. Hugh mentioned this being a topic of discussion last quarter with your Product team. Do you have any updates on if and when this will be addresses?

I hope this makes it to the short list soon. This is SUPER annoying. We can't even use the "add number/letter prefix" trick to force alpha order because our fields are often shared in different projects. We need a display ordinal option.

Please add an OPTION to manually order the custom fields. We absolutely need the ability to manually order custom fields. Occasionally alphabetical is useful so we'd like to keep this as well, although the alphabetical scenario is rare.ย
