[Status: Not planned] Converting Projects/Folders to Tasks
Note: Please refer to the main thread on this topic here ๐
I would love to see wrike add an option to convert projects and folders to tasks. It takes a lot of time to copy/paste all the content to a task if you start with a project.
Hi - I would like this feature also.
Are there any updates on the development of this feature?
Hi Mike Newsome and Muxiang Pajerski, good to see you here and welcome to the Community ๐
Unfortunately, there are no plans to launch this at the moment, but we do appreciate you adding your feedback. For context, you can find more information on how we work with Product Feedback in this article, if you have any questions let me know.
Also, as you're new here, I'd recommend checking out our New To Community forum. Let me know if you need anything else ๐

Hello,ย
I swear wrike used to be able to do this when I was initially trained, but lost the capability- or maybe I am dreaming? hehe
I am finding this to be a real sticking point and roadblock for new users to increase their usage or use the program effectively. People start speed typing out actions into wrike and sometimes they are auto-created as tasks, sometimes as projects. Not being able to convert them is creating a lot of poor work-arounds or people getting frustrated and reverting to their old excel to-do lists.ย
Hi Kate Prior, welcome to the forums ๐
I don't thing this was ever available. Thank you for sharing your feedback, we'll pass it on to our team.ย

This happens all the time with newer users and I have to convert everything manually to fix it - supporting this idea!
ย
It would be awesome to have this feature available.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and supporting this idea Brittany de Kouchkovsky, Helena Iรฑiguez Alvarez!ย

I am also supporting this feature! I am using the wrike chrome extension and my task fall into a project when I would rather they fell into a folder. Each task is not part of a project and there is no deadline that I can add to this project with all my random task. I just need all task to fall into a folder that I can add to projects and other folders.
Hey Monique Reveles, welcome to Wrike forums ๐ย
From your comment I understand that you don't necessarily want to convert projects or folders into tasks. It seems to me that your feedback is related to the Wrike Chrome extension. If that's correct, I'd advise creating a separate Product feedback post so we can pass it on to the relevant Product team at Wrike ๐ย

I am supporting this idea as well!
Hi Waldemar MACIOลA, thank you! Welcome to the Community!ย
Has this idea been open for three years? Supporting this as well!
Yes.ย The ability to convert to or from all types to another would be extremely beneficial.

This is a critical need for us. I am trying to link Teams and Wrike and Teams does not recognize Wrike folders. It just shows all contents of all folders in the same page. This has stopped the linkage altogether and caused massive headache for us. We have to change the folders to tasks or projects so that Teams can recognize them. Is there any updates on the progress of this conversation capability?ย
Hi Mehdi Taherishargh, thanks for reaching out!
As I mentioned in my previous comment just above your message, our team is currently researching this potential feature and some users are beta testing a solution. We'll keep you posted on how it progresses ๐
