Tracking of task deletion
Hi,
at the moment if a user deletes a task in a project there is no evidence of that; the PM of the project must be able to remember of the missing task, or check periodically the bin.
This is not practical, and puts at risk projects with more than one user with r/w rights.
I'd suggest that deleting a task adds a log in its father container, be it a folder or a project.
I continuously monitor the stream for deletion or extension of tasks to ensure this doesnt happen. The alternative is to change the permissions for users.
Perhaps Wrike could have it set up so that the owner or admin receive a notification of a task being deleted?
Hey guys! Thanks a lot for reaching out!
Using project stream is one way of doing this - you'll be able to see if a task is deleted:
Thanks for mentioning this, Glyn Thomas!
You can also use Access Roles to restrict task deletion. For example, users with the Editor role can edit task descriptions, dates, etc., but they can't delete tasks. Here's more info on Access Roles: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/articles/209603589-Access-Roles
Please let me know if that helped!

Hi Lisa,
you have written, that the access roles can prevent the detletion of tasks.
What about this: a task is assigned to a project. The assignee has an editor access.
Now he addes the task to his personal folder (that is no problem in the task). As soon as the task is in his personal folder he can delete the task (we have seen tis).
Is there any way to prevent this? You could think of somebody doing it by accident or by intention.

Hi Sven Passinger! The Editor role doesn't allow to add or change tags:
The only way I can see that could be possible here is if you have a customized Access Role that allow users with the Editor role to do that. Could you please let me know if that's so?

Hi Lisa,
I do not understand it either. Yes we have one customized access role but not the editor. I made some screenshots to document the case. Hopefully you can find the problem.
We use the editor:
I made a task in the project. Julian is editor in project and task:
We tried than what he can do:
He added his personal folder as parent, then deleted the original poject.
So the task moved o his personal folder and was vanished for me.
In his personal folder it was no problem for him to delete the task
Then task then arrived in my recycle bin. In Julians recycled bin it was not.
So in my understanding that should not be possible. Where do I have to change settings to prevent this kind of highjacking.
Regards
Sven
