what the heck? how do you get to that screen? is it an extra cost just to get dark mode?
update - this is not Wrike, this is the wrike deve *site*. way to get our hopes up.

ย
So the message this is sending is: dark mode is a crucial part of working productivity to reduce eye strain and help everyone enjoy their experience better. but either Wrike devs only value each other's comfort, or some Wrike exec is just arbitrarily deciding not to give this to end-users. Either scenario is just terrible, and really lowers confidence in Wrike. Please - keep a better lid on stuff like this at least, so we're not finding it and getting even more upset that we don't have it on the platform we spend 8-18 hours per day looking at.ย
I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but this is ridiculous, we've been asking for this for too long for it not to be addressed. I went and did some research, did you know every major competitor to Wrike offers dark mode?
Competitors to Wrike that offer a dark-mode, night-mode, or reversed contrast accessibility option:ย

Who still DOESN'T support Dark Mode, despite user outcry:ย
that's the company you want to be in?
Maximilian Jositzย there are worlds between having a dark mode in some documentation app and wrike itself. Likely the developers app was built upon some documentation framework already supporting different themes / dark mode. Being a dev myself and having poked around a bit in the source code, I can see it is not a simple or easy task to implement this, cause noone cared about theming (well apart from the colored sidebar) when developing all these many many views and components.
However, do not read this as an excuse for not implementing this. A modern productivity app should have a dark mode or care to implement it really soon. But as far as my experiences are with the Wrike team, they do not care much about these general improvements. I'm using wrike for 3, maybe four years now and usability has NOT improved in any way. The inbox feature still has almost no useful features compared to mail notification, it's been postponed for years and missed the final promise of being implemented in 2020. Instead some (at least for me) useless home screen was added as well as spaces which I have not used ever since. But that's maybe just me. The mobile app has turned worse, now I need to re-login with the SAME account to switch workspaces. And about the dark mode, well I was so fed up about it that I hacked in my own one (just works for the basic tasks view, but it's enough 99% of the time). In summary I have no idea what the "priorities" of the team are. At least it has nothing to do with what I and all the others here would like to see.
Jannik Mewesย have you tried the "New" UI experience? It leaves a lot to be desired from desktop usability standpoint. Big step backward IMO with everything hidden under hamburger/ grid menus.ย
Dean Wrightย yeah I think it's enabled for me. TBH it's not that problematic for me cause I stay in the simple basic task view 99 % of the time. However I wish the wrike devs would feel like me, in that the platform does not conceptual changes or big new features but some polishing and improvements on existing features.
Hi again, everyone!ย
Thank you for the continuous support you show for the dark mode option in Wrike. Please rest assured that we pass on all your feedback here to our Product team.
As I mentioned recently, there aren't any updates in relation to this suggestionย at the moment, however, the team continues to research this, and once we have an update from them, weโll make sure to let you know here.

Wrike may be losing a dozen seats if they don't show progress on this issue this quarter...

At this point, Lisa is basically a bit of caution tape holding back hordes of angry power users clamoring for dark mode.
I know you're just doing your job Lisa lol, just trying to bring some levity here!ย ๐
But yeah... we're gonna riot any day now.
I guess I donโt understand what there is to research. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Adobe and others obviously thought is was important enough invest heavily to implement a native dark mode. Many other electron apps use a dark mode. Can you let us know exactly what about a dark mode they are researching?
What's hard to comprehend is that they already have dark mode implemented in at least two places on Wrike - see for yourself - in the file viewer you can toggle in and out of dark mode/light mode, and on the dev site, both use at least part of Wrike's API, AND there is already theming built-in to deliver us these ugly shades of navy, teal and purple that no one asked for. So it's hard to believe that anyone is hard at work perfecting a system that already exists, it's just not a priority for some reason that a person has made the decision on.
Hi again, folks! The research is related to the dark mode and the New Wrike Experience. As they continue to work on the improvements for the latter, they can't yet commit to introducing the dark mode because the UI continues to change for now.ย

Just here to throw in another big +1 for dark mode. โ๏ธ
Joey Lopezย File Viewer and documentation are just two small pieces. Wrike is made of hundreds if not thousand individual components and each one will need a style refactoring to support theming and/or dark mode. And the already available theming affects only an extremely small part of the components/styles. That being said, it's still of great importance to invest the required time to implement it.
Adding my support for a true dark mode. As someone who suffers from frequent migraines and is in and out of Wrike all day, this would be extremely beneficial for health purposes!ย
Thanks for adding your support here Daisy Hibbard!ย

In lieu of native dark mode, which there's really no excuse not to have by now but not necessarily Lisa's fault, one work-around is to use Chrome and enable dark mode.ย
Again, not optimum but better than staring at white screens.
Ryan Bellย Definitely not perfect, but WOW! Thanks for the idea! I'm going to test this out for a while. It's nearly impossible to see a lot of the Wrike icons on various screens (and wrecks Gmail icons), but this might be a decent temporary fix!ย ๐ #kudos
Hello, it seems this post is from 2019....and in two years Wrike dev team hasnt done anything! please Devs, even if Wrike is a good option to use, and i'm thankful about the software and updates, it still hurts my eyes when i switch from all of my software interfaces to it! Please, it almost been three years!
i'll start using Dark Reader extension but Wrike should have its own mode already. Please, stop saying it is a priority while its obvious that is not.
I don't want to sound rude at all, but please, i beg you for this option to be available in Wrike soon.ย ๐

Thank you very much Lisa, i'm looking forward to it!ย ๐
Hi Lisa, now that we're over 60 votes, how long should it take to receive a product status? Thanks!
It looks like they have started rolling out a dark mode for some users on the Android app. At least now they are admitting that light mode is harsh on your eyes.

Thank you again for supporting this suggestion here. I've checked with the Product team as this post reached the 60 votes threshold, and for now, they aren't planning to release this in the near future, so I've added the "Not Planned" status here. At the same time, the team is aware of this need, and therefore the status doesn't mean the dark mode will never be available for our web and desktop applications. We continue to pass on your feedback here.ย
By the way, as Dale McBroomย mentioned above, the team has recently released dark mode for our Android application; you can check out the announcement here. I hope this will be a positive change for everyone who's been supporting this suggestion here.ย

For anyone as frustrated about this as I am, I have found a pretty good workaround.ย With the new Microsoft Edge, you can install a website as an "application", that is launchable from a Taskbar/Desktop shortcut (Menu - Apps - Install this Site as an App).ย After doing that, I have installed the "Lunar Reader" extension for Edge/Chrome (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lunar-reader-dark-theme-n/pifalnbglchfojkfmechjalgbjoodlpg) which has a "Whitelist Mode" site list option, to which I've added wrike.com, so it doesn't affect all sites.ย The extension also allows you to tinker with the Dark Mode settings, to get it looking exactly like you are looking for.ย This allows me to keep Wrike in its own separate window, launchable by a shortcut (just like the desktop app), and gives a good dark mode experience.
No one is asking for the new UI elements Wrike has been wasting their time on and I can't believe your development team didn't have the forethought to include a dark mode in their roadmap even though they are "aware of the need". I could understand if they had true native Mac app that requires a rewrite but its just an Electron wrapper. They could do this easily if they wanted to especially now that it's been done on Android.
I can't wait to see what "features" are released in the near future that have a greater priority than this.
Thanks but Dark Mode should be Nยบ1 Priority as it hurts our eyes to not having it.
After that Wrike Team can think in new ways to improve or add other things, that we are not really asking for. I hope you can take us seriously since this request has been made 3 years ago and we still don't have the requested and needed Dark Mode.
Thank you.
My eyes are hurting...ย
