Quick Access to Project Information from Task
I would like to suggest a quicker way to get to the projects meta-information starting from an assigned task.
At the moment you have to go to the project itself and then use the clipboard icon on the top right to access the project information. We would like to suggest to show the clipboard icon in the task itself.
Hi,
I made a quick mock-up on how it could look in a dashboard view and in "My Work" 😊
This would be awesome. We use a number of request forms, and we always have to go the top level project or task to get a complete picture. Some kind of shortcut would be incredibly useful!
Great idea! This often confuses users, who report they can't find "the project"

Agreed. To add to this, it would be good to see this implemented in the inbox as well. It's difficult to figure out how to open up the full project from your inbox notifications. To make it even more confusing, for some reason the way you open up a project is different depending on the type of notification - sometimes you click on "open task list" from the notification itself, and sometimes you have to click on the project name under the task name in the preview panel.
Every time you are looking at something that is part of a project, whether it's a task, assigned approval, @mention, or other type of notification, there should be an easy way to click into the project. And the way you open up the project should be the same every time (it should be the same icon or words, located in the same place, on every task or notification).
I'm commenting on this thread since it has the most votes - but there are several other feedback threads relating to lack of links with Projects.
This lack of a link is super annoying and makes training users difficult. Please add a link! There's already the clipboard icon... can this be made into a link to the full Project?

There should be a simpler way to get to project level info from the task than just the v small clipboard icon - this is quite frustrating and not obvious for new users to find and use.
I completely agree with James and Karina.

Hi guys, just jumping in for Lisa here - I don't have an update for you yet, I'll let you know as soon as I do. Also, don't forget that as soon as this post reaches 60 upvotes, our Product team will be able to provide a Status on this thread. So please be sure to keep commenting your feedback and use cases here!
Yes please make this possible both in My To Dos but also on the Dashboard widgets. My resources live in their dashboard view. It would be great if they could get to the task details or the project info, by that same window-opening functionality right from the dashboard. They want to stay in their dashboards. and work directly from them.
Thank you for supporting here Shannon Cate! Please make sure to upvote the original post above if you haven't yet - the number of votes helps the team understand how popular the suggestion is. Once this post gets 60 upvotes, we'll ask the Product Team to provide us with a status here 👍

My team has asked that I cut/paste the entire project main page details into their indiv. assigned tasks so they don't have to click three times and then back again, or open in another tab. If I have 25 projects and they have 10 tasks each, that's my duplicating existing information 250 times. If that doesn't express how poor the task-to-project visibility is, I'm happy to set up a meeting with you to show you.
