Closed Work Flows

How can I change the workflow of a task that is in a closed workflow?

I have tasks created in one folder automatically in a closed workflow, but i want some of the parent tasks in that folder to actually just follow the default workflow. How can I do this?

Hey Jessie, thanks for reaching out 🙂 Account Admins apply Fixed or Flexible Workflows, so if you are an Admin, you can choose the follow-up statuses or even not use Limited Transitions for Workflows so that users can change a Workflow. If you're not the Admin, maybe it's a good idea to discuss the Workflows with him/her. Currently, if a Fixed Workflow is applied, you can't change the Workflow if it's fixed. Please let me know if you have any further questions 🤝

Lisa, I am the admin. If i'm understanding you correctly you saying i would need to change the status of the workflow to not be fixed in order to get a task out of that workflow. But i want the workflow to be closed for everyone else, I just want to be able, if there was a mistake, to move a task out of that closed workflow into the default workflow. Are you suggesting i need to make the work flow not closed, change the tasks i want, then go back and close the workflow again?

Jessie, that's right, or you can use the Flexible Workflow - when changing a task’s status, users see specified statuses, and all other statuses are under a “More” menu option. Admins determine which status should have predetermined follow-up statuses and they choose what the follow-up statuses are. For example, if a task is “In Progress”, users see “In Review” or “Completed” as options but they are able to select other statuses under a “More” navigation menu. In that case, it might be easier to correct a mistake if it occurs.
