How to change default gantt chart view to show present / future and not start in past

I am new to Wrike but love the functionality. in particular, i like the gantt view. only problem i have, and i have looked for a solution, is that the default view shows past months. when i am looking at the gantt view, i do not want to look in the past - i want to see the present and future. it appears the default view is "centering" the project gantt view (as i widen / narrow the window the tasks appear to center in the available space). i really am looking for a "left justified" : ) default view. if i want to go to the past, i can scroll...

i hope someone can help and my apologies if it is posted somewhere and i did not see it...

Hi Colin, happy to see you on the Community 🙂

The default Gantt Chart view depends on the Project you are looking at - if the Project is near the today's date, it will be shown, if it's not, you'll still see the the today's date (indicated by a red vertical line) and arrow signs: when you click on them, it will take you where the tasks are:

So you should be able see the red vertical line when you open the Project on the Gantt Chart anyway. Please let me know if I misunderstood you, we can discuss it further here 🙌

I found this topic of great interest. I have a similar problem to Colin Meier.

I have a Gantt chart which starts today and all subsequent tasks have been planned for future. However the default gantt chart view centres the start date on today and leaves a large gap to the left of screen which i then have to drag away. It would be better if the chart was left aligned by default and as the project progresses away from the start date, the gantt centres on todays date.

Hi Manoj Lad 🙋🏻‍♀️ Welcome to Wrike!

Thank you for your feedback. By design, the Gantt Chart in Wrike defaults to showing today's date in the middle of the timeline when you open it. As a workaround, you can change the zoom level on your Gantt Chart view from months to weeks or days to get a closer view with less empty space on the left-hand side of the chart. The system will remember your last zoom level selection until you change it.

While this may not be exactly the configuration you were looking for, I hope you find this suggestion useful. I have already shared your suggestion with our product team.👍🏽
