How to avoid task name duplicate under same folder

Hi All

Could you please advise how to avoid user to create the same task name under the same level of folder?
Otherwise, same task name at same folder will confuse every one.

Thanks
Gary

Hi Gary.

Each task in a folder should have it's own name, ie. Review this, Screen that, Go there, Do now.  There should not be two Do now Tasks, anything to Do now, should either be a subtask of this one, or a checklist in the description.

Would you be able to show a screen shot sample here of what you mean?  i'm not sure i follow this question, but would love to help.

Hi

Resurfacing this question. I believe Gary is asking if there is a way to either prevent or be notified if a created task is a duplicate of an already existing task.

To build off of your example Marj, if one person created a Do Now task, and another User unknowingly also created a Do Now task, is there a way to prevent that duplicate from actually being created or notify if it is?

Thanks,

Mitch

Hi Mitchell Martin, welcome to the Community! 🤗

It's not possible to prevent the creation of a task with the same title as an already existing task, unfortunately. Could you please share how your team usually creates tasks? Is there a dedicated person who creates projects with tasks?
