make a wrike task private to just specific people when it is in a folder that is shared with more people

is it possible to have this feature? It would help us a lot specially in limiting people who see a specific task per folder/project.

Joseph, I don't believe that feature is available. I think if i used that option, i would tend to forget to "un" share a task with someone, which could create an issue, especially if the task is confidential. Perhaps the better route would be to make a sub folder and remove all, adding in only those that can see those certain tasks.

I hope this helps.

Here's a use case:

PROJECT ABC

  • Task 1 > Internal Team > Do something
  • Task 2 > Internal Team > Do something
  • Task 3 > Aligned Resource / Contractor > Do Something
  • Task 4 > Client Team > Review Something
  • Task 5 > Internal Team > Do Something
  • Task 6 > Client Team > Approve Something or Offer Feedback

We really only want the client to see Tasks 3 and 6 as the other tasks are proprietary. We want the client to see the "sausage" not "how the sausage was made".

I believe this is possible with an enterprise account, but shouldn't it be possible with any account? This is a basic feature in Teamwork - granular permissions for who can see what tasks.

I am also interested in this.  How can I create a folder under our Admin space for employee reviews.  I want the specific tasks and documents to be only visible to the specific employee and their supervisor, not to everyone who can see the shared admin space?

Hi Teresa Penbrooke, PhD, thanks for reaching out! This should be possible with Selective sharing (available on Enterprise accounts). Turning on Selective sharing for a folder or project lets you edit who can access that folder or project, regardless of who has access to the parent folder or project. Hope this helps!

This would be so helpful if it was for specific tasks, as well as whole projects or folders.

This would be very useful for our team as we host one-on-one meeting notes in Wrike and would like the option to keep them confidential within a space.

Hi Jess Cuddy, thanks for checking in here. Can I ask if selective sharing meets your needs for this?

Elaine Lisa I have been using selective share for a while, and it work as expected, but it is kind of a hidden feature. I would be nice if there was an easier solution for selective sharing, like an option in the 3 dot menu to share only with assignees or something like that.

Hi Elaine, we are using selective sharing at the moment, but we find that it still doesn't give 100% privacy to a task and we are having to make exceptions for private tasks in our process.

An example is we use selective sharing for private one-on-one meeting notes. As a part of those notes, we often create actionable sub-tasks and tag them into locations shared with other users. This does not make the task visible to other users, however, if we add a comment or assign another user as a follower of a sub-task, it automatically shares the parent task with them. We are having to detatch sub-tasks from private parent tasks to ensure this does not happen, or, create a new task in a shared space.

Are there any ways we can manage this differently in Wrike at the moment? Thanks so much.

Hey folks, thank you for your additional feedback here. I'm afraid that selective sharing is the only option at the moment. We'll share your use case with the respective team.
