Folllowing List for Post: How do I un-tag a task (or remove it from one project, when it accidentally is put in more than 1)?
[this list is visible for admins and agents only]
Hi Stephen, from the task panel you will see all folders/projects that task is included in below the task title. Hit the "x" on the folders/projects you wish to remove the task from.
Hi Trevor Tollefsbol,
following-up on the above. Your solution works for some tags. But in my Wrike instance, this does not work for all tags. Some remain grey when I hover over them, and don't have the "x" on it.Is that maybe tags others added? How can I undo that? This is starting to create confusion in my Wrike instance.
Hi Jorge Nogueira, welcome to the Community! 🙂
There are so-called "ghost tags". When a subtask is created, it is automatically attached to its parent task. By default, subtasks live in a task, so they are not added directly into their parent’s Folder or Project. Subtasks have “ghost” tags that look like faded out Folder/Project tags. A ghost tag is there to provide information: it tells you which Folders/Projects the parent tasks lives in. If the subtask has multiple parent tasks, then it has a ghost tag for each Folder/Project that the parent tasks are in. Here's more info on them: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000079225-Ghost-Tags

I ran across this problem myself today ...
I wanted to removed a cross-tag from one project and it wouldn't let me do so because it was a sub-task of another task.
To resolve this I had to 'outdent' that task and move it up to the root level of the project that I wanted to remove it from. This then turned that tag text from grayed-out to normal black text, at which point I was able to edit the task and then remove the tag. This in turn then removed that task from the project that I wanted to remove it from.

Thank you Chip Linthicum Jr! I've been struggling to figure this out in the new Lightspeed version for like an hour. I'm finding the Lightspeed layout is not intuitive for me at all, and things that were so simple before are now proving to be time sucks for my team. Appreciate the tip!
