Recurring tasks: start date doesn't take into consideration the task due date

When I create a task with a due date, and THEN click Make Recurrent, it resets my due date to "TODAY" rather than pulling that date into the recurrent pop up. I ALSO then forced to click around to find the right date, and not able to paste in the date in numeric format like I am for regular due dates.

There is a lack of logic and efficiency in this setup that I would love to see improved.

I agree! I set up a request form for someone else to use and have selected, "Align with Project Finish Date".  IT IS NOT WORKING!  It is defaulting to the current date and my form user is not happy.  Please advise!
