Duration in Seconds
As a duration custom column user
I need to aggregate duration by project down to the second
So that I can run reports directly in Wrike, without exporting to Excel first
We have a custom column to track something in minutes and seconds. I can manually type 3m 45s and it will save (which is useful, in itself) but the Project Aggregation SUM does not calculate seconds. I also will need to use calculated fields in reports to divide this duration column by the work log data (#h #m). Ideally this feature would normalize everything as seconds, then recompile them to minutes.
My current workaround is to export the data out of Wrike, duration format "#m #s" - I paste the task column and duration column into my excel spreadsheet. In my excel spreadsheet I have a column to extract the number before the "m" and another column to extract the number before the "s".... then add those up as seconds. I then divide by the worklog, normalized as seconds using similar columns to pull apart "#h #m"- then convert it all back into minutes.
If I could at least perform operations on the data (SUM by project) I would be able to cut out a big middle step for my reporting needs.
I received an email from an advanced support staff member, who indicated the SUM including seconds will be included in a future update to Wrike (the new table view update)
Thank you!
i need this as well
Do we have the seconds getting added in wrike now, as i see that we still have HH:MM and seconds are not calculated. Can someone please clarify.
Hi folks, thank you for this feedback!
I don't have an update for this suggestion at the moment, but we will let you know if there are any changes in the future!

Any updates on this functionality now that the new lightspeed table view is live? Also need the ability to track time in minutes and seconds for some of our projects.
Hey Melissa Mourer, thank you for reaching out! I don't have an update at the moment, but it would be great if you could share some detail on your use case, like in which cases you need to track time in minutes and seconds.

Hi Lisa,
The use case for us is related to two weekly TV shows our communications and marketing team produces every week. We are building out a space for each show. Within each space, we want to organize episodes as projects and the segments within the episodes as tasks. We have a set amount of time we have to fill for each episode 27M 45S. Being able to track segment times and have them summed at the project level within Wrike would be helpful. We have to be exact down to the second based on the parameters set by the network to make sure the episode doesn't run short or long. Without being able to to track minutes and seconds in Wrike, we have to rely on an outside tool to keep track.
Thank you for getting back to me Melissa Mourer! This is an interesting use case, I'll share it with our team 👍
