Multi-select in a Form and Template

Answered

So I have created a Custom Multi-Select Field – which I would like to use in a form and allow a user to select  those multi items and have it auto-populate in the Template for a project. Is this possible?

Thanks!

Ok – figured this out. So I will post my own answer :)

  1. Setup a Template for a Project Type.
  2. With that Project Template Selected go to the Menu (3 dots) Choose Manage Custom Fields.
  3. Click + New Field and give it a name.
  4. Choose a Multiple Select as Type and apply to your Folder/Project where your form will be sending information.
  5. Go to create a new form – and must have the "Place Project Into" Location already using the Custom Field that was just created with the Multi-Select Options (add through table view).
  6. Then create a Checkbox Type of Question and Map it to a Multi-Select Custom Field – which this then auto pulls in the Multiple Select Options.

Awesome!

It looks like there was an update since this last post.

I can't add multi-select to my forms.

I've tried everything above.

Is there another solution?

Hey Wrike Administrator, thanks for reaching out! 🙂

It should be possible to map to custom fields. Please note that to map to a custom field, the following must be true: 1) A Folder/Project for items to be created in must be specified in the right-hand panel in the "Place task/Project into" field 2) the Custom Field you want to map to exists on that Folder/Project. Also, please check out this table on the custom field types where you can map responses to.

Please let me know if that helped, I'll be happy to help if it doesn't.

Hi Lisa,

I've followed all the instructions and it's not working for me. Can you help?

I have added custom fields to my request form successfully for text, dropdowns, etc. However, the multi-select custom field I created and made available to the project isn't available in the request form's checkbox fields.

Thanks
