Mapping Github labels with Unito
Hi we're new to Wrike and looking at Unito to integrate with our existing GitHub issue trackers. We've been exploring the mapping options but cannot see how to handle labels on GH issues - we use these extensively for categorisation.
Two specific cases:
- Simply, we want to mirror labels as a way of tagging/categorising items in Wrike. e.g. if an issue has "GUI" label, it should be tagged "GUI" in Wrike, so we can find all "GUI" issues
- We want to treat specific labels as having special meaning. For instance "high priority" and "low priority" labels would set a field on the Wrike task, not just be tags. Or "question" labels would cause the task to go to a separate folder or something.
We've seen there is some custom JSON as well as field mapping but are confused by what it is for. We could set up multiple syncs with different conditions but that seems messy rather than one sync and some configuration.
What is possible and can anyone give real-world experience how they did anything similar? Are there any good resources going into detail and advanced settings?
Thankyou.
Hey John, you can map the GitHub Labels to the Wrike's Description footer, see here for full details here.
Also, Github Labels can be mapped to the text type Custom Fields in Wrike.
Here's what it look like in Github - Github view

Any questions, let me know 👍
Hi Stephen, I know this post is quite old but when I try and do this it doesn't work for me. I have added a field to my Wrike task in the folder linked to my GitHub repo, even using the exact same name as your example, but when I select Label from the GitHub side, the Write Test type CF field shows up as incompatible.
The only other difference I see is that in my Unito sync setu[ I have GitHub on the left and Wrike on the right of my configuration but I did have it set to sync both ways.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Hi Glyn, this is not something I can help with from here so I've raised a ticket to support who'll be in touch soon to help.
Anything in the meantime, please let me know 👍
