Tie Project Folders to Filters in Middle Column

There are a number of views in the middle column, which show project folders that have a different status than filters.

So for example, if a project folder has been marked as completed, but the filter is set to "All Active", in many views (such as table, the new beta list view, and others) the project folder still shows up.

I know the filters are just used for tasks, but is it possible to tie project folders to filters as well.

Here's a few screenshots to demonstrate.

We NEED this so bad! It seems like all they keep doing is adding more buckets for us to push things in. I need to be able to filter projects.

Jumping back in on this one. We really do need this!  Since we can hide Completed Projects on the tree, why can't we hide them in the main section?
