Wrike desktop app disappears on multi-monitor setups
I've had a couple coworkers complain about the Wrike desktop app suddenly moving to somewhere off screen ("becoming invisible") and becoming irretrievable. I too have this issue. We are all using multiple monitor setups (extending desktop across multiple screens).
Unlike other active desktop apps, when you hold shift and right click the Wrike app icon in the Windows task bar, there is no "Move" or "Maximize" option to help display/retrieve it. In fact, no menu/options appear at all.
This issue has led to people uninstalling the app, which is problematic because the "auto start upon windows startup" setting is key to keeping Wrike front-of-mind. Now, these users have to remember to go into Wrike and tend to only engage the platform when they get e-mails re: notices/activity.
Reinstalling the app does not fix the issue. The app opens, and appears to be running (per the preview pane you see on mouse-over), but there is no easy way we have found to bring the app onto the screen.
I am also using a multiple monitor setup with two monitors extending the desktop but I have not had this issue.
As as work around for this issue try clicking on the Wrike icon to give it focus and then hold the windows key and press the up arrow. This should make the program go full screen from there you should be able to click the title bar and drag down to move the program into the visible screen.
@PT Hi 👋 I've created a Support ticket for you just in case this is something that the team can help look into a little more.
@Kyle I actually didn't know about that keyboard shortcut, thank you for sharing 🙌
I got this issue recent as well and the window's button doesn't work like it normally does to move the app around. Having to revert to internet version for now unfortunately. Please let me know if there is a known solution.
Hey Eric,
Completely uninstalling and then reinstalling worked for me. Instructions from Wrike Support:
1. Uninstall the Wrike Desktop app from the computer.
2. Find the folder %APPDATA%\Wrike and delete it. This folder has the cached data and cookies so sometimes deleting this folder can help.
3. Re-install the app to your computer and check if the issue is still happening.
A "Move" or "Maximize" option for the Task Bar app icon (upon right click) would still be great, so we don't have to uninstall/re-install the app, and the Wrike team has taken this into consideration.
Same thing happened to me. Was working fine last week. Did the upgrade, now the app is completely off screen and I can't get to it. Uninstalled, deleted data, reinstalled, still can't see it on my desktop. Any other tips?
I used alt-spacebar and was able to maximize the screen
I have been experiencing this same issue for a few weeks but was able to solve the issue by using Kes Morton's tip. Thanks Kes!
@Kes, that worked for me! I had to make sure Wrike was the 'active' application. Thank you for the tip!
Thanks, Kes Morton! The alt-spacebar did the trick for me.
@Kes, thank you very much, this worked for me too.
Select the Wrike icon in the toolbar, then <ALT> + <SPACEBAR> which brings up the option to maximise. Then it comes back to normal. I haven't been able to use the desktop app for a couple of months despite reinstalling and upgrading. So very happy.
Wrike, you were too slow on this, I think this should have been taken a little more seriously since a support ticket was raised in October 2018.
Thank you @Kes Morton, the easiest and best fix 🙏
Thanks. I also used alt-spacebar and was able to maximize the screen.
This annoying bug is still present in the app today, alt + spacebar solution was the only one that worked for me
Agree with everyone here - still having the issue, but the Alt+space saved the day. Thanks @Kes! Hopefully a fix is in the works since this bug was reported almost a year ago...
Alt-Spacebar from Kes Morton's post for the win!😁😁😁
This works!
Kes Morton YOU ARE A GEM!!!
Over a year later and this issue still isn't fixed. I used Wrike with my multi-monitor setup without issue for over a year and then suddenly the application window vanished. Kes Morton did what Wrike support couldn't, apparently: actually provide a solution to this problem.
Hi Kat Pomasl, thanks for reaching out! If you have any kind of issue like that (hope you won't!), I'd advise contacting our Support team directly at https://help.wrike.com/hc/requests/new. But I agree, it's great members are sharing tips here on the Community also - this is what this forum is for, after all 🙂

I am new to Wrike. I have been using it for about two weeks and this just happened to me. The ALTSpacebar worked but wanted to let you know it still appears to be an issue.
Hey Mike Storck, welcome to the Community! Glad to hear that the ALTSpacebar worked for you. If this happens again, be sure to let me know 😊
Thank you Kes Morton! You just saved my day!
