Dynamic Assigning Via Groups
We have a very consistent workflow for our construction projects where each project has a business development person (we call them Project Solutions), a Project Administrator, and a Project Manager.
On request forms for things like RFI's from jobsites I need all (3) of these people assigned to the task that gets created.
I manually create a dropdown as you will see on this screenshot. However, anytime an employee is added or leaves I have to remember to update each request form. It would be amazing if the options could be dynamically created based on Groups. So a question could be who is your project administrator, I pick the project administrator group and it populates the options based on their names and allows a user to select one which will be assigned to the task.
Hi Ivan, would it be possible to create a Blueprint with assignees instead and base the Request on the Blueprint? This way you'll still need to update the Blueprint if someone leaves or joins but it may be a quicker process than updating the Request form.

Stephen, I dont think so. Basically I want to dynamically select which Project Administrator gets assigned on this request form. However, we use that same selection on multiple forms. If one person joins or leaves the team we have to update all of the request forms. If I could have the select (dropdown) be linked to a group, when someone joins or leaves that group the dropdown would update on all of the forms.

I suppose the only workaround I can think of right now (and it's a bit of a change of process) is to rely on where the resulting task/project generates in your Workspace and ensuring the entire group have visibility of tasks that land there. For example, create an 'Incoming Request Folder' for each request. Share this with the Group. Create the form so new requests come into this 'incoming' Folder. This way you rely less on the assignee, and more on where the task lands.
Not ideal I admit 😇But might be applicable for some requests.

Unfortunately that would be a disaster for us, we really rely on the notifications. Hoping it gets short listed to the developers 😁
