Wrike Tip - Unassigned Tasks & How Not to Lose Them
With Wrike, an unassigned task will get lost in the 'cloud'. To prevent losing these tasks, I created a report at the root folder that sends me a daily report of all unassigned tasks. Has come in handy more than once. A way to help prevent unassigned tasks is to have folders automatically assign tasks based on workflow. My InBox automatically assigns to me, and even sends me a notice.

Update: The report option will not locate an unassigned task that has not been assigned to a folder. Those tasks head to the root directory. Unfortunately at this time, including the root folder, is not an option. Until it is, be sure to click on the root folder once in awhile to look for unassigned/not in a folder tasks.
This is a great recommendation, I just created the same report and even though I had another way of scanning for this... Well, lets just say it frightened me how many are out there!

I'm a new user and I'm setting up Wrike for my team. Several times, I've created a task and pressed Enter only to see it disappear completely. This might be where they're going...

I found a flaw with this method, I'm hoping there is a solution. With creating the report, you can't select the ROOT folder, only sub folders and projects. If a task is created and not in a folder or project, just sitting at the root, it will not be shown in this report. @Wrike Devs, can we add the ability to pull a report that starts at the root folder???
Hi Marjorie, I can understand where you're coming from and I have even tried to create root based Reports a few times - usually to find tasks I created but didn't assign to a Folder/Project. Technically, allowing this option can get a little messy, and ideally, every Task should have a Folder where it lives - this is using the building blocks of Wrike approach.
Here's what I do; I tag tasks to a 'Not Assigned' Folder I created instead of leaving them in the root. This makes creating Reports from items that have not been assigned to a Project or Folder easier to find and report on and helps me find tasks a lot quicker. Perhaps this might help.
I'll be sure to pass this on to the Product Team. I can't find a similar idea in the Product Feedback section, but it would be great if you could start a thread there so the team can get a better understanding of how people would use this.

Hi Stephen. That would work great for tasks that you know are not assigned to anyone yet. This is for finding tasks that were accidentally not assigned to a person nor to a folder, which places them at the root directory. I'll head over to the Product Feedback section soon and post a write up.

I am no longer showing time to certain task in Wrike. How do I remove the task from my timesheet?
Hi Gene Allred, welcome to the Community, and thank you for posting. You can right-click on the tasks to remove the row, all entries on that task will be removed.
