[From Wrike] Wrike Desktop App
Our team recently released aย desktopย app version of Wrike. What does that mean exactly?
ย
Essentially that you can access a full version of your Wrike Workspace without opening a browser window.ย ๐ฑ
ย
Reasonsย you'llย love the app
- Dedicated experience just for Wrike.
- Automatically launch Wrike when your computer starts.
- Not to brag but, Wrike for Windowsย won the 2018 Windows Developer Awardย for "Commercial Innovator of the Year".ย
- It's faster, especially if you're using Internet Explorer 11 (we're talking up to 800% faster than Internet Explorer 11).
But that's just some of the reasons we love it. Check it out and let us know what you think.ย
App does not function as expected.ย I have installed the app using the instructions, and when I login, the app does start.ย No issues here, but I do close down the window to continue working.ย ย
When I receive an email informing me of a task, the email has a link to open the task in Wrike.ย When I follow the link, the task does not open in the Wrike app, it always opens up a browser window.ย When I check the app access settings in my profile, the app is not listed there.
What are the actual settings that need to be applied for a Windows 7 64-bit?
thank you,
Jat
Hi Jat, can you try clicking here, go to the App Settings tab and check the option to open links in the app is ticked?
The setting should look like this if it doesn't let me know and I can help. Thanks!
it is enabled, and still does not work.
Jat
Thanks for coming back to me Jat. Can you check that you've selected the same account as the Desktop when you choose this option?
See here:
ย
We only have one account, and both the desktop app and the regular browser are showing the same "Prairie Lube".ย When I look at the "Apps access" section, the only app that is listed is "Wrike Android".
thank you,
Jat
I love the desktop app but my one peeve with it is that when I have a notification, I get it twice (at about the same time) and neither of those notifications bring up the application when I click on them so they aren't all that useful. It would be great if the desktop notification came through once and when I clicked on that notification it would take me to the task related to the notification.
ย
@Kelly & @Jat, I've raised tickets to our Support Team to take a closer look at this. It sounds a little unusual. It would be great to pop back with an update for others members here that may be facing the same issue ๐
has there been any update on this? a few of my colleagues are experiencing the same thing: the Wrike for Windows & Mac has been downloaded and under App Settings, the box is checked for Opening Wrike links in the desktop app. This doesn't work. You receive an email from Outlook and when you click on Open in Wrike, it takes you to a web browser. Why?
Also, it's really confusing to know what you have and haven't downloaded from the Apps section. If you downloaded something it should say downloaded next to that item, not configure. If I downloaded the desktop app, why is it not listed under Apps Access.ย
Hi Emily, the team continues to look into this as it's happening for some customers. I'm raising a ticket so your use-case can be added to this issue log internally and the Support Team will reach out once a solution is put in place.
