Dashboard now has a Project and File widget ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Some new exciting templates widgets have been added to Dahsboards recentlyย ๐Ÿ™Œ

Previously, you could only create task-based Dashboards. Not anymore, now create a Dashboard widget to show your Projects while filtering by Owner, Status or Folder to see what exactly you need to see. Youโ€™ll find this option when you add a new widget from Dashboard.

File Widget: This new option is pretty awesome too! Now you can create a Dashboard widget based on files within a Project or Folder. This allows you to get a better overview of your Projectโ€™s assets. This is a template widget so youโ€™ll see the option when selecting a new widget in Dashboard.

So, what do you think? Weโ€™re interested to hear your thoughts and how youโ€™re going to use these brand new widgets.

The files widget is AWESOME! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

One bit of feedback: If there's an ability to search in the widget at all for a particular file, that wouldย sooo helpful. We have some projects that have close to 100 files in them.ย

I also found the filtering by specific custom workflow status wasn't working well. It kept saying nothing matches that when I know there's some that do. ย

Hi Lauren - happy to hear your feedback ๐Ÿ™Œ

There's no specific way to search within the Widget, however, yesterday we added filters for when creating the widget which might help narrow down what you see there, including using Custom Fields.

Let me know if this helps ๐Ÿ™‚ I also think a searchย function would be really helpful too so perhaps you could create a Feedback post I can show our Product Team?

Love having the project widget. Would be great to search on just the project owner and not the folder also. ...an and/or option.ย

ย

Also, it seems I can't select a high level folder is projects are a couple levels down. I need to select just 1 level above the projects. Would be nice to see all projects regardless of level that fall below a higher level folder.ย

Hi guys, just want to let you know that in Search you can look for files. this is a fairly recent addition to the search function.

In the below GIF, I selected the 'Creative' Folder from my Folder tree first; then used the search keywords I needed, I checked the box for 'Creative' so I only see results from the 'Creative' Folder and then I see the associated files below.

I know this isn't searching in the widget but it's a useful way to search for files by keyword ๐Ÿ‘

Thank you for adding this Project Widget!

I'm trying to get a simple overview of the status for all Projects and this is the only way I've figured out how to do that (by creating a project dashboard with a project widget for each project status.) Let me know if there's another way I can do this!

A quick suggestion for the widget: can each project also have a link to the folder it's in? (similar to the task items listing their folders.) I've found it to be very helpful for the task widgets and would be very helpful to help differentiate between projects by easily seeing with folder they're in!ย

I created the dashboard below. I created a custom workflow status which includes colors for our four stages of a project: Discover, Define, Build and Maintain. I set a convention to use the phase on the project level and for phase levels (parent tasks). Active is used ONLY for subtasks (children) of the phases. For the Active-Project Statuses Overview widget, I made sure each project uses Project progress, then used Wrike's project widget and chose to display projects with one of the four phases. With the four phases being used as workflow statuses on the project level, I've also been able to create some other pretty interesting dashboards using Wrike's task widget, selecting to display the four-phase workflows or to exclude them, that show phase-specific information or tasks. It's working pretty well. Hope this is helpful.

I am trying to find a workaround to see the project status of one particular project. I'm working on a dashboard that gives you a nice overview of everything going on with a particular project you're tracking. I'm sharing it with the team, they can use it as a template and duplicate it, editing the location it's coming from for a different project. I'd like to include the project progress and phase (like it shows above), but I can't get the percentage using a task widget, and a project widget will only let me list projects under a folder. If I use the location of the project itself, it doesn't pick up the project status for some reason. If anyone has a suggestion for this...

I also have a suggestion... it would be nice if you can set a blueprint to track project progress by Completed Tasks, let's say, and have that transfer to a project created from that blueprint. Right now, I have to remember to update it.ย

Kelly would love to see what your project status dashboard looks like - we have a need and cant figure out how best to setup the report/dashboard for a project specific status report
