Old Timeline

I am still using the old timeline view off of Wrike Labs, please do not get rid of this by the way, and I used to be able to create tasks from this view on certain dates by hitting shift and clicking on the day on the calendar. Now when I do this, Wrike makes a task but it is backlogged and won't assign a date to the task.

Could there be a simple/ quick fix that would still allow this functionality?
