Milestone Indicator
Hi
I'd like to be able to set a milestone so that it places a colored column in timeline view and becomes visible globally.
Use case - we have an engineering milestone - "Feature Complete" at the end of June. No matter which project I am in , I would like to see this approaching milestone in timeline view.
Cheers!
Andrew
Boy, would that ever be helpful!
+1
Milestones are currently lost in the timeline and act as a regular task, with the only difference of changing the icon to a small diamond shape. We definitely would see a huge benefit of having milestones as a 'fixed' line for example, like the red line showing your current date.

We have just started using milestones and, I agree, they need to be presented as unique in the List view. Whether making them bold or adding the diamond as it appears in the Gantt chart. This is of no help if it looks like all of the other tasks.
Hey everyone, thank you for all of your feedback here! It's been passed on to the Product team.
In addition to converting a specific task into a milestone, I actually started using a "Milestone" status on my workflow under the active group and made it purple. It has been extremely helpful. I am able to pull reports on just milestones and it stands out on the on the list view and the Gantt chart.
Hi Caroline Jones,
Thank you for sharing this workaround! I've marked this as an Innovative Approach for other Community members.
If you need anything, be sure to let me know.
I think Caroline's workaround is very good - but if I didn't do that I would also like to see the status turn from a square into a triangle or something in table view.
Thanks for weighing in Andre Herrero 🙂

+1. Our team would really benefit from easily being able to discern a milestone from a regular task in list view without having to remember to perform a workaround.

I would also really benefit from visible milestones. On previous Gantt Charts, the diamond shaped milestone icon showed on the bar, even when the task with subtasks imbedded within is collapsed, the diamond showed on the bar. Very helpful for a quick overview of the important deadlines.
I would also love to see the milestones highlighted in the table view. At the moment it looks like any other task and is easily missed. Have upvoted this request! Hopefully it can be added soon!
Thanks!
Thanks a lot Kerstin Johnson, we'll let you know if we have updates on this topic!

Simply adding the diamond icon that indicates milestones in Gantt view to the Table view would be very helpful. I upvoted this thread and liked the posts related to this simple solution. Thanks!

Adding my voice. The Gantt chart is so nondescript when you start a project. All the bars are the same colour (new) and milestones are just small versions of the same thing. I'm finding the Gantt side really underwhelming so far.
