A time format that explicitly includes the day of the week

As many companies, we work a little less on friday than every other working day of the week. Wrike's journal can give you an overview of your time spent day-by-day but we miss the day of the week in the time format of the journal so we can easily figure out the errors in time tracking.

To be more precise, currently, when I see "6h" on 2018/03/23, I have no idea if it is a time tracking mistake from me OR if it is perfectly normal because we work only six hours on friday.

I think that a cheap modification for you would be to add a time format, in the options, that would include the day of the week inside it, like "dd/mm/yyyy (dayOfWeek)" or something.

Hi Antione, thanks for your post and welcome to the Community 🙌

I wanted to confirm where what view you're looking at when you see 6h on a Friday?

Also, you might be interested in upvoting this idea from Lynne 👍

Initially, to make it easier for you (and not wait one year to see this included :) ), I was thinking about adding a time format in the user profile.
This way, all the dates displayed in the GUI would have that information. Not great, I know, but at least it gets the job done easily and the choice to people to use it or not.

If you want the details, I think it would be especially useful in:
 - the TIMELOG tab
 - the "Show all records" of a task
 - anywhere you want to deal with time tracking

@Antione Thank you for the extra details! I don't have any news on this, but if I (or Stephen) do, we'll definitely update you here.

P.S. I laughed when I read the bit about working a little less on a Friday.

I don't mean to be rude but you seem to find irony in my initial request where there is none (or maybe I didn't get your point).

There are different cases where you don't have the same due hours per day. It doesn't mean we work less (as I badly said) in the long run. Simply that our due hours are not reparted equally in the week. It is the fact in many companies of many countries. I think that Wrike is an american company (isn't it?) but you have to be open to other countries' work system when you think about your features.

That's why I made that request. We do need this "due hours" info somewhere in order to tracking time properly. My proposal is the very least you can do about it, as I explained earlier.

Hi Antoine, sorry for any confusion here. Having a shorter working day on Friday can often be seen across different companies/countries so it was a great use-case here which we appreciated 👌 We understand that working hours can differ from organization to organization for a number of reasons.

Your request has been brought to the attention of the Product Team, if/when we have more information we'll update you here.

Happy posting 🙌

I'd really like to see the day of the week (M/Tu/W/Tr/F) with the due date on the "My work" section of Wrike.  For example, today is 9/27, and I have tasks due next week at 10/3.  Is that earlier in the week or later in the week? Should I be alarmed now? Etc....

@All Hey guys, for now there's no update for this one. It would help a lot if other Community members engaged here as well. The more votes the suggestion gets, the more likely it is that our Product team considers implementing it. I'll refer the members here if someone asks about this functionality in other Community sections 👍

I also wish you could display the day of the week, not just the date. I have my team using a dashboard to see all of the tasks due in the next couple of weeks and we have to always look at it with a calendar to confirm which day of the week it is... seems like something relatively simple for Wrike to do?
