Completing a Recurring Tasks

Hi, I've created a recurring weekly task. It was completed, then it appeared as passed due. So I marked it as complete thinking I am only closing one instance of the task that was done and not affecting the recurring task, however it seems to have stopped recurring as well. I tried again with a different task with the same result. How does one close a recurring task that was done without stopping future recurrences? Thanks!

Hi Jason, welcome to the forums 🙌. You should be able to complete one recurrence at a time without affecting any of the other tasks in the recurrence. With recurrent tasks, you choose how many tasks you want created upfront (at that time). If you select 1 there, then only one task is created and other tasks are created when the start date of the next upcoming task approaches. That means that you can complete your one existing task but the recurrence is still running - you'll just see it later.

Does that sound like what could be happening? If not let me know! If you're comfortable sharing a screenshot of your "edit recurrence" settings that would be fantastic!

Hi, yes that's what is happening. I didn't realize how the upfront tasks worked. Thanks!
