Update task via email
Good morning,
we are using the option to update a task via email quite frequently by adding "wrike+1......@app-eu.wrike.com" in CC.
The original message sent by the wrike user is updated in the task correctly.
As soon as the email recipient - a non wrike user - responds to the original email ("wrike+1......@app-eu.wrike.com" remains in CC) he receives the following message :

Hi xyz! |
|
You’ve just sent an email with the subject “AW: Test” to wrike@app-eu.wrike.com. If you are a Wrike user and wanted to create a task from that email, we have to let you know that it has not happened. The task was not created in Wrike because the address (xyz@aaaa.de) from where you sent the email is not known to the system yet. If you would like to add this email to your Wrike account as a secondary address, please follow the link: |
Is there any chance to update task via emails that are sent from non wrike users? We do not want to create a new tasks, just update an existing one.
Thanks a lot.
Hi Anian Bader as far as I'm aware in order to update a task via email the email needs to be linked to a user profile. With the exception of sending emails to external users following a request form submission as those replies go straight back to Wrike with no trouble. Unless others know of a way around this.
Hi Amy Hunter thank you very much for your feedback. Not quite what we hoped to be but we solved question with a workaround by forwarding the incoming emails automatically.
Thank you very much.
Hi Anian Bader glad to hear you were able to sort out a workaround. We had a similar situation where one of our teams had to set up a new address specially for setting up a forwarding rule into Wrike.
