Task description links not deleting and causing confusion

We’ve run into a persistent issue when copying and pasting task descriptions from one task to another: any file links from the original task can’t be fully removed from the new one. Even if they appear to be deleted, they reappear after refreshing the page.

The only workaround we've been given is to use keyboard arrows to navigate and edit the task description—which is not a sustainable solution for our team. This is a critical issue. It’s led to our creative team working off the wrong files, which wastes time and creates confusion.

We heavily rely on our mouse and cursor to navigate and edit within tasks, and I can’t reasonably expect the team to switch to keyboard-only editing to work around a bug. We’d really appreciate it if this could be addressed and resolved as soon as possible.

Hi Chelsey Christensen,

what kind of links are you talking about? Links to documents attatched to the original task, or external links? I tried a quick test and wasn't able to reproduce the issue.

Have you already raised a support-ticket at https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/requests/new ?

Florian Kislich hi there! I'll give an example. I have a task description for a specific task (we'll call it task #1) where I link to Document ABC. Document ABC lives within task #1. Then, I go to create a similar task (we'll call it task #2) and I copy/paste the task description from task #1 into task #2 to use as a starting point. I delete out the link to Document ABC, and instead link to Document DEF. Document DEF lives within task #2. Everything looks as it should, until I refresh the page or go out of task #2 and come back in. Then, the link to Document ABC has suddenly reappeared in the task description, even though it was previously deleted out. I did submit a support ticket and the wrike team investigated the issue. They said they don't have a fix but aren't able to prioritize one at this time.

Hi Chelsey Christensen,

I tried something very similar without running into this issue. Does it appear with any kind of documents? I tried with a .jpg attached to a task and linked to in the description. After copying the description to another task, the attached image was automatically duplicated and also attached to the new task. But I was able to delete it in the new task, and even after refreshing nothing changed.
