Do you use custom fields? We’d love to hear from you!
Pinned Featured CompletedHi, everyone!
If you've ever spent too much time managing custom fields, wondering which fields to use, or had to create new ones to stay organized, we'd love to talk to you.
Why are we doing this?
Custom fields are at the core of how many teams organize work in Wrike. But as your workspace grows, managing and finding the right field can become a challenge. That’s why our team is researching ways to make custom fields more intuitive and easier to use — whether you’re creating tasks, setting up automations, working with forms or tables, or creating new item types.
Who are we looking for?
We want to hear from people who use custom fields often and have thoughts, challenges, workarounds, or ideas for improvement. Whether you’re an admin, a project manager, or someone who loves a well-labeled column, your input can help shape future updates.
Interested?
Leave a comment, and we’ll reach out to schedule a quick 30-40 minute call. Your feedback will help guide our next steps.
Thanks in advance for helping us make Wrike better for everyone! 💚

Oh one other issue we see are the permission settings with Custom Fields. The Edit settings allows any user to add/delete custom fields but we only want an option for some users to Update the custom field seems. Allows for issues of users changing custom fields w/o admins knowing
I love Wrike custom fields but a couple things would greatly improve the experience for me:
Thank you folks!
We appreciate everyone's feedback and willingness to help us with the research! We now have lots of people to reach out to, and we may not be able to reach out to additional commenters here. At the same time, we welcome all feedback 🤝

I'm late to the party, but if any slots open up to discuss, I'd love to. It's a top-of-mind subject right now as we do a major audit of Wrike.
We have over 200 different custom fields that feed information to our testing laboratory. For a specific test, some fields are applicable, some are not. We would love it if a custom item type could populate specific custom fields based on dropdown information or at the very least color code the fields. Its sometimes difficult to know which fields to fill in and which to omit when you're looking at over 40 different fields for a test. And the correct information is vital as we utilize these for reporting and passing information to different departments.
Appreciate your interest, Steve Mruskovic, Baleace Foster, I'll inform our Product team!

We rely heavily on custom fields in Marketing — especially for Brand, Market, and Project Type. They help us filter dashboards, group tasks, and generate clear reports for team leads. Adding required fields through Request Forms made a big difference in keeping our data clean and consistent.
